Re: Ultima Onlines Future?

The diversity is the beauty of UO really. You don't HAVE to do what others do, or go for the same items that others have. You can just find what you enjoy and stick to that, be it beating up earth ellies, doing bods, doing t-maps, banksitting, roleplaying, heck even fishing.

Games are generally more fun if you just focus on what you do have and what you like, rather than on the things you don't yet have and things you don't like doing but for whatever reason feel you have to do

Re: Ultima Onlines Future?

hi Steven i understand what you mean, the best way for me is to play like you like but if your choice is pvp you will need uber stuff at all its true.
The problems is at my sence not the flood of items but the regards from osi on some kind of player.
you can see that some people (not player) remove stuff from the game i mean merchant hold big arty castle gold and all other stuff that you need to play in uo,and if you want by exemple a castle for you enjoy the game you must,or pay in real cash or huge amount of gold that you cant have of course .
My idea is that osi must open a special service that track all cheater and dupper and all outgame merchants, follow them in game and ban them as soon they identify them and destroy all their stuff.
We need to clean uo from people that dont play uo but just use it to make real money .
Excuse my English im a french speaker.

Even the tide washes sea weed and trash upon the shores of UO Forums.

*No Pun intended*

I can't even come up with a witty response for this one.

Re: Ultima Onlines Future?

You got to stick with it.
I've been playing over 4 years, I've bought nothing to help the advancement of my caracters, just keep trainingand killing.
When you can afford a small workshop go find a site and errect it (as in real life start small and go to bigger things as you can afford them)

As you get better/ stronger your Fighters/Mage caracters can kill tougher monsters and therfore reap bigger rewards.

This is the way I did it. I now have a large house and a well stocked shop.
Find your own grove in the game and go for it

Re: Ultima Onlines Future?

I have been with UO from day one and I don't have all the items in the game nor am I obsessed with getting them.

its not the amount of items that is the problem. Its the desire to open the box hop online and have everything handed to you.

In the begging no one even saw a dragon or a demon we were all running for our lives from the bunny rabbits! no one had anything other then our practice weapons. it forced us to explore look around and find play styles that we individually enjoyed.

once you find a template you like you stick with it no mater what you are fighting, looting, or making because you enjoy it.

as Adrianna said "The diversity is the beauty of UO really. You don't HAVE to do what others do, or go for the same items that others have."

Its not the items, its the lack of desire to find your own play style.

Setting up a new account logging on and looking around at other players and saying well he has uber weapon X and she has wonderful armour Z and nobody will give them to me so I can't play and giving up is the problem. If that is what the new players are doing then we don't need them!

I know a lot of veterans that will still go out with low end equipment and hunt orcs just because they like killing orcs not because it will give them an artifact. they just enjoy playing the game. That is the type of players we need not the ones that want everything handed to them.

Just find a character you like and stick to it. It dose not matter what you have in time you will gain the items just go out and have fun!

BTW..... I still fear the bunnies!!!!Xbunny:

Re: Ultima Onlines Future?

Solens and Deamons have been my favorites for quite a while. I hunt them for fun. I don't care that much about the items or gold. (selling translocation powder is pretty easy money though)

A newbie can still do very well in the game. Items are not that hard to come by anyway.
