Let me preface this with the statement that in most situations I oppose outsourcing for the sake of outsourcing. But in this situation, it could be an answer for multiple issues. The growth of MMO's will continue to grow at a good rate everywhere worldwide, but especially in Asia and Southeast Pacific Asia. Everywhere the lack of GM support is an issue. EU & US players would like to see the return of EM and volunteer staff, currently enjoyed by AS players via EAJapan. Scripting, duping, etc. is a problem around the world in all games, and common in Asia. I would suggest that EA creates an EA/Asia facility someplace like Hong Kong, Manila, or Singapore. Where the local workforce is well educated, multilingual (many are fluent in English, Chinese, Japanese, and other languages and dialects), are technologically saavy, and ready for tech services jobs & careers serving broader markets. An EA/Asia facility could serve as the helpdesk center for EA games support staff including UO and upcoming MMOs with GMs. EA/Asia could also have a division specifically to address regional issues of ToS violations, piracy, and so... from a regional facility. And lastly, being outside the US... could be the base of operations for a new volunteer programs for EA MMOs. There are a lot of devils in the details that aren't needed to point out now... my point of posting is that things that cannot be done in the EU & US, can be done elsewhere. Just my 2 pesos. ![]() |

Heck I bet they could even get people to actually do it for no actual cash as well. Making the term 'Volunteer programme',truly that !. ![]() |
