I've been trying to figure out why I can't get Ultima Online: Kingdom Reborn to start up for the last 2-3 hours. I've completely patched the game and when I click "OK" on the patch launcher window, another grey box pops up saying "Ultima Online is now loading..." or something along those lines. Shortly after the message disappears and nothing happens. I check taskmanager and there isn't anything there. Anyone have any Idea, comments, or suggestions?

Does your computer meet the system requirements?

ya, my specs are beyond the requirements for KR. I've checked them on the UO website. I just reinstalled windows and updated my drivers, too.

I may have previously mentioned this in my other post, but it looks like UO starts to load or something and then it just stops, I dunno if I have to change a setting or something or maybe it's trying to duplicate my desktop resolution and can't do it. I don't know. It seems like I had this same error back in 2005 when i played the Gold Edition, and someone told me to change something, but I can't remember...

Weird, I thought most issues with KR not starting up were resolved. But yeah, I'd put my money on it being a conflict with video settings, I wouldn't know how to fix it though.

Well I figured I would try to change the fullscreen option in the uo.cfg file, except I don't even have one. Only .cfg file thats its my UO directory is vercfg or something like that. Do I have even have the whole game?

I was going to say, have you tried 2D as opposed to UOKR?

I had the same problem with UOKR earlier on, almost the exact same problem, and I never did get it fixed, but it just started working for me a month or so later.

My thought would be to try uninstalling and re-installing KR. Maybe something went wonky on the install.

Ya i had an old copy of Ultima Online Gold that I got back in '05, and after installing and patching fine, it seems to works. I will have to settle with that until I can figure something out about KR, thanks for the help guys.

You could try posting your directX info here, that might help us
To do so, click Start, then Run, type dxdiag and hit enter
Answer yes if it asks to download the latest certificates (or something heh)
When the green bar has finished collating info, click "Save all information"
Save the text file to your desktop, then copy/paste the contents in here.
