Ultima 1-9

Is there anywhere I can download or get the old ultima games? I really want to check them out and experience the storyline, especially ultima 7-9 cause they look pretty cool and are atari graphics

A CD compilation including 1-8 was released about 10 years back. You can pick it up for around $10 on ebay - it crops up quite often:

ebay: Ultima Collection

Likewise, you can find UO 9 separately on ebay - but if you know someone who can check their old UO 7th Anniversary box for you, there's a free copy of UO 9 that came with that particular issue...

Was ultima 9 ever multiplayer or did it just fail?
I am going to try and find that compilation

Re: Ultima 1-9

No, it was single player, like a cross between an RPG and an FPS.

When it first came out, it was buggy as all-get-out. However, with the later patches it works. And, to be honest if you forgive the fact that everyone wanted *more* from it, it's actualyl *quite* good. But not as good as we all wanted it to be...

Re: Ultima 1-9

Ultima VII parts one and two are probably the best games I've ever played. That's saying quite a lot considering how ancient they are graphics-wise.

Ultima VIII Pagan is pretty neat, I liked the world in it, but there's just too much bunny hopping and hack n' slash and too little dialogue and plot.

Ultima IX I thought was great. Not as great as VII, and the endgame plot pretty much blowed (the origin of the Guardian, not to give away too much), but romping around a 3D Britannia was just pretty darn sweet.

I'd definitely recommend playing all of 'em.

Re: Ultima 1-9

If it is not illegal to share. I have a zip file somewhere with all of the ultima games. I would have to find it though. I swear I have it somewhere.

Are those games still being sold retail? If not I assume it is abandonedware...

Re: Ultima 1-9

Man. I looked and can not find it. Sorry.

I prolly deleted it because (no offence to Ultima fans) I found them cheesy and boring. I am sure it was just the graphics that I did not get into.
