![]() | Re: Two Clients It should work with Windows XP and separate accounts where you switch between them. No idea if Razor runs with EA too, but that program lets you open more clients. |

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | Re: Two Clients Using other programs would be considered illegal. There is a legal way to dual client using only Windows XP.You need at least 2 logins and 2 UO accounts. To create an additional login for XP: 1. Click Start-Settings-Control Panel and select User Accounts 2. Click "create a new account" 3. Name it and click "next" 4. Click "create account"; (keep it as an administrator account) 5. Create as many accounts as you want to login accounts To play on one pc with 2 accounts: 1. Start UO and log on to your account as normal. 2. Without closing UO, press the windows key+L (windows key is between the CTRL and ALT key) 3. Select the new account you just made 4. Open UO and log into a different account with the new user 5. Press the windows key+L to switch between accounts 6. This is very useful for transferring homes, friending and co-owning characters, and pet rez when no other tamers are available. Long ago, it was condoned by Developer Wilki as a legal means to dual client. ![]() Last edited by abracadabra; 27th April 2008 at 01:54 PM.. Reason: format |

If you have passwords on your accounts, you'll have to enter one or the other each time you switch. The alternative would be to set up limited (non-administrator) accounts to use while playing UO, and leave them un-password-protected... so even if someone breached security via one of those accounts, they don't have admin permissions to the system anyway. I highly recommend using secure passwords on any account with administrative permissions, though. This also works with Windows Vista (the fast user switching, that is). ![]() [UOCraft.com - Pet Power Calc] - [The Syndicate Guide to UO:KR] - [Photography: Blog - eBay - Flickr] - [Bird Blog - Geek Blog - Poker Blog] |

![]() | Re: Two Clients Thanks for the help guys, user switching worked great. I just wanted to consolidate my two accounts so I can cancel one, it bugs me to have to pay for two when I only ever us one and the other just holds my house. |

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | Re: Two Clients Here's yet another reason to switch to KR: you can open as many clients as you want and that your computer can handle. Yeah. I was shocked, too. It rules. ~M P.S. I can usually only get two clients open without massive, unplayable lag. As it is, I have to avoid Luna with 2 clients. My system and my connection kick butt. P.P.S. This better be a feature, not a bug, because it is single-handedly winning the "I hate KR client crashes" war in my opinion. This option makes the current annoyances of KR seem remote. ![]() | Re: Two Clients Do most people use KR now? I still use the 2D client. I think I do because it reminds me of when I played in the 90's and now I am old and don't like change ![]() Just wondering if I should give it a try. Does KR do most of the functions of UOAssist? |

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | Re: Two Clients Hi RPG Buff, Most players are still using 2D, but that is slowly changing as KR is getting better... and more importantly, players are upgrading to better PCs. The ability to run KR is kind of hit and miss so far, depends on things like how current your PC is... faster CPU, faster & more RAM, faster HD, faster & DX10 compatible video cards (KR tends to prefer newer dedicated video cards over over integrated video chips), a well patched up OS (XP or Vista through Windows Update), & the latest video drivers. KR doesn't have all the functions of UOAssist, but KR is getting there. One of the problems with KR's functions, is that they are not very well documented... KR is a LOT more powerful than many players realize, and haven't discovered (because of the lack of documentation) yet. That is changing too though. Here on UOForums, UOGuide, The Syndicate's web site and others you'll find players posting about how to setup KR macros and accessing the power features in KR. Hope that helps. |
