Trouble with 2D macroes

I don't remember at which patch it started but, I cannot save any new macroes with any of my characters any more. This is for 2D, I don't play KR.

Any macro I make works for the duration I'm online, but when I log out and log in again, the macro is gone (my older macroes stay). I have to make "bandage self" macro again everytime I log in. I have to make a lot of new macroes so this is really a big problem.

UO replied to my post to report this as a bug, but I first wanted to know if anyone else has this problem.

Re: Trouble with 2D macroes

Hmm.. that use to happen when you crash/loseconnection or something like that without the macros to "save".

After you've set your macros go to UO folder -> Desktop folder -> your account login folder -> Your character folder -> copy the macros.txt....

Make sure the macros are in the macros.txt file.. then log out and log in.. now open the new macros.txt and see if the macros are gone? If they are.. paste in the one you copied with your macros. Save that file somewhere els as backup as well...

The icons are also gone each time?

Re: Trouble with 2D macroes

Thanks Gnomy,

Heres what happened :

I made a macro for bandage self and assigned it to ". Checked and it was working. Went into the folders and copied macros.txt. Checked the file and the bandage self macro was on the last line of the file.

Logged out and logged in. Bandage self macro was gone (as expected). I checked the macros.txt and only the last line, where bandage self macro supposed to be, was not there any more. All other previous macroes were intact.

I tried this on two different computers, same result. So the problem is not computer dependent.

Secondly,

This is 2D client so I don't have any macro icons (or is this something I missed until now??).

Re: Trouble with 2D macroes

Can always click and drag all spells to your uo desktop in game..around the playscreen or on the playscreen

Try delete a macro you dont use and then add this bandage self macro

Re: Trouble with 2D macroes

Problem solved in a funny way! Sorry taking your time..

Whatever you do, the macro is not saved if you assign "(double quote? leftmost second row) to it. How so, is another question.
I tried something else (F3) and everything turned OK.

BTW, I understand dragging spells, special moves to playscreen, but macros ?

Re: Trouble with 2D macroes

I was having this same problem with macroes not saving.

After reading baldguy's post, though, I now understand why. I had assigned all my macroes to the keys on the number pad. After assigning them to new keys, they're saving just fine.

Thanks.
