Re: treasure hunting questions...

1: all dpends on your cartorphy and lock picking skills.

2: i use 100% lrc with high resist suit(but then again,i only do level 6 maps).

3: all depends on what level of map you are doing(level 6 gives you one m-arity)

with that being said, loot for treasure chests very... and has nothen to do with the amount of luck on your suit(though luck will help you with the loot from the monsters that spawn from the chests). what kinda char are you going to be(tamer t-hunter, mage t-hunter, bard t-hunter... so on and so forth)?

Re: treasure hunting questions...

There are different levels of t-maps. The new t-hunter can start off doing level one, anyone can do those. Most ppl don't bother doing them anymore, except for the level six ones.

Re: treasure hunting questions...

Omera,
Treasure Hunting is a skill set, like magery, taming, or a Warrior.

As mentioned, anyone can do a level 1 map. You find the maps as loot on monsters you kill.

You have to "decode" the map first. Once decoded, it shows you a rough map with a pin on it, you have to find that place.

You will need to be armed with a shovel, or pick, to dig up the spot.

Once you find the spot, you double click the shovel (or pick), target the map, then target the ground where you think the treasure is.

Fight/kill any "Guardians" of the chest (monsters that pop up when the chest is reveiled), then you need to unlock the check, then open it.

Of note, most chests are locked, and trapped.

Hope this information is more helpful, if you need more, please ask.

Cheers,

Re: treasure hunting questions...

Unfortunately, T-maps have goten a bit left behind with al the new content. In combination with having skills that are tedious to raise, they arent very popular at the moment.

Heres my quick take:

The only reason to do any under level 5 (Devious) is for skill gain. And levels 3 and 4 (Adept and Clever) have always spawned Dread Spiders but the spiders have gotten a big beef up and have made those map really more dangerous than they are worth...

What you will currrently get from doing maps:

A stock pile of Magery/Necro reagents
Good training for skills on you and possibly pets
A little gold
The occasional "nice" item. This would pertain to levels 5 and 6 (Devious and Ingenious) and is more likely to be a "decent" item.
A "Minor Artifact" on level 6s. The market is failry flooded with these so they wont make you rich but you may get some use out of them.

The other great benefit to the newer player is getting a MCUH better idea of where everything sits on the Tram/Fel landmass. What towns are close to what shrines, where dungeon entrances are, etc.
