There are aspects to this game that are untouchable. I have spent the day walking throughout the castle and courtyard alongside Sherry the mouse. The Sherry. The beloved character from previous Ultimas and integral part of the Ultima universe. In no other game, can I find that. Nowhere. Nothing out there has that running continuity, that sense of pure legend to it. There are faces and tales (tails too) and stories pages deep about these characters, and last night one of them reappeared in Britannia.

I've enjoyed the past day and a half immensely. The event itself was a good riot but this is perfect. This is Ultima.

I'm happy to hear that! I never got into any other Ultima game aside from UO, but hearing others reminisce is always a great thing

Ive never had the opportunity YET to play other Ultima games either [ an ambition id love to resolve] but i spent hopurs reading the UO LOre and can also feel the 'sense' of having Sherry around

Hope they bring some more of these characters back.

I couldn't agree with you more Terrance. I found the original Ultima series many years ago and picked it up in mid-stream. I was so entranced I went back and played all the older ones, even though they were primitive by comparison. The Ultima mystique goes beyond technology. I would never have considered playing an online game had it not been ULTIMA ONLINE, and I will be here until the doors close.

I, too, am delighted with the recent return to Ultima lore.

Actually you can. Ultima IV is actually hosted somewhere on EA's own ftp as abandonware I believe, but your best bet is to go on eBay and search for the "Ultima Collection", as it'll have all the previous Ultimas, including the expansions for Ultima VII. It's possible to run them on a modern system. You could also pick them up individually from eBay as well.
