Good: the developers try to iron out all the issues and Kingdom Reborn sees a fall release.

Bad: the developers gets everything in working order and there is a summer release. We spend the next 10 years with promises to fix this or that. It is Third Dawn all over again.

I am thinking it will be leaning on the bad side. The open beta is coming too early. EA is going to pressure for a release. The 2D client currently wins in every category except graphics. But some of the Kingdom Reborn graphics are worse then 2D! It is a huge mess.

*nods* unfortunately, even in my doom and gloom mood, I have to agree. Too fast, with too few fixes after the initial beta flood. I sure hope they listen and delay release until it's useable.

I haven't tried it, so I can't really comment, but from the pictures and comments I've read, it still needs alot of work before anyone could claim it a "finished" product.

I would go for badly as well. I think the problem began in the planning stage. They wanted to get players to return to UO and a new experience. They have spent all this time on a new client, when the reason I think most people left was lack of content, PvP issues and the rampent cheating. None of those issues are resolved with this new crappy client.

Looking back, I think they expected this whole thing to go much faster then it has. The client was revealed last September I think? And then they couldn't say anything about it until mid-January. We finally got our first look at the Town Hall and it was a complete mess.

Building a brand new client takes a lot more work then they are allocating for. And they probably can not tie up all their developers for the next 6 months on KR. If they do push it back, it means developers are going to be taken off KR, which means even more delays.

Hmmmm:

I think that it isnt going to be as good as it could be because they want to get it out and crank out SA to increase revenue, but I think that they will also be able to address issues more readily with a more current and actually supported game engine.

Would rather an annual expansion schedule. The semi-annual has been at the heart of all the long lasting bugs, poor expansion quality, and unsupported client.

I truly believe they need to push back the release. I don't see how this can be ready for the public this summer.. Not even sure it can be ready this year. I know they can fix the bugs reported, sometime, but it's more than bugs that are an issue.

I would rather see this get pushed back 6 months and get most of the bugs and graphic issues resolved, rather than them rushing and releasing a mess, kinda like the old 3D.

I agree they should not push it, bring it out when it is functioning properly. No one wants a broken toy
