During the last town hall (the 2nd to last?), the one broadcast on UO Radio, where they started talking about how the lands were using the tile system and how KR would allow them to do "new things." They were responding to a question about graphics, but I'm wondering if it's more...

I'm wondering if this means that the entire SA land will not be limited to tile-by-tile movement. Meaning, that in SA, movement will be more like Diablo II. The tile system will not only no longer govern graphics, but also movement as well.

Just a thought.

Never played any of the Diablo games; how is the movement different from UO?

You can move half a step, or a fourth a step, or however small depending on how long you click your mouse button. I'm not saying it's going to be click & move to that position, I'm saying you can move pixel by pixel instead of tile by tile.

We will see with the anniversary release AFTER SA. If they follow the same patern as UOTD and UOLBR, where the 2D client was allowed access to the 3D lands, then UOKR is doomed, jsut as UOTD was when this decision was made.

The dev's said in Chicago that only KR will be able to access Stygian Abyss lands, as their very long range goal is to have one client. Many people gasped at that, demanding to know when 2D would be discontinued, and they said they couldn't even speculate on a date as it is that far off in the future.

Highly doubt the tile by tile movement will be relieved of duty.

It'd 'cause too many problems with people using 2D interacting with those using the KR client *cough*PvP*cough*. Oh wait, nevermind.
