Theory: Why only KR will only have access to SA.

I'm just SAYING. Given the MANY repeats in UO history of classical errors, this is just the next step. I wish it were not inevitable, truly, but all the 2D whiners will force the Dev's to compromise.
The promise to make a land exclusice access for one client is EXACTLY what happened in the UOTD beta, with EXACTLY the same reasoning.

I will allow that UOKR is much more stable than UOTD was at the same point. However, UOTD was a fully developed client delivered for Beta, whereas KR is not fully developed yet.

Is it truly a beta if we do not even get to see all the sub-systems prior to going gold?

That was a different dev team, though, and this team said SEVERAL times in responses to various complaints re: the past (at the Chicago town hall) that they cannot be blamed for what previous teams have done. They can only do what THEY feel is right for the community and the game.

I think that's a fair request from them.

It would not make sense to go backwards in time tweaking the new expansion so that the 2D client can be used with SA. They are adding layers (something 2D cannot do) for example. The result of a joint 2D and KR expansion would then not look good on either clients. A bad business decision.

and this team has said they are very understaffed...... what does understaffed generally mean in quality?

Where was that stated? I don't recall reading or hearing that. It sure seems to me like they're working 24/7, understaffed or not.
