Re: The Vanguard Attacks! (Some Spoilers)

by far the worst aspects of these spawns are:

1. not being able to damage restless souls, pirates, brigands, but they can still interrupt your spells and generally annoy you.

2. monsters spawning stuck. this includes the vanguard controllers.

3. not being able to cast area effect spells.

That pretty much sums it up. Imagine the moonglow rift, without any area effect spells, and that's what we've got. Cats has several people fighting, but I can assure you they won't be dragging all of those restless souls out from the cracks inside of the walls anytime soon.

Unless we're forced to page gm's to unstick the vanguards, the spawn will theoretically stack ontop of itself, correct?

Re: The Vanguard Attacks! (Some Spoilers)

i found a strange red npc at vanguard spawn, i never seen one like him
name was "black order mage of ....." (dont remember all the exact name, but was reaaaally long).

I killed him, and all i got was junks, golds and his clothes.
Clothes looks like old dark blue zog clothes, but are not the same color, so nothing
special and a pair of WaraJi Tabi that looks interesting...
have to check if tailor can do it, i never crafted it lol!

You can inspire some townsfolk to go after the restless dead you cant seem to harm. Hire someone, walk them around a bit at let them learn the ways of warfare. Dismiss them and they'll be so inspired they'll go after the stubborn invaders on their own recognizance.

Though the best method is just to fix the dang code already...

Re: The Vanguard Attacks! (Some Spoilers)

The restless souls are a bit bizarre. Sometimes, your guarding pet will attack the restless souls. Sometimes not. But I know the only way I've seen them die is from pets (in tram, at least--in fel, sometimes you can kill them, sometimes you can't--but, it is an issue with the guard zone, I think, because, if you try to do Vorpal bunnies in Cove, you can't always kill them either, unless your pet is guarding you...sometimes that works).

Re: The Vanguard Attacks! (Some Spoilers)

On LS, the spawn is in several places...Nujel'M, Cove still, Papua (NOT Delucia interestingly enough), and....Someplace else. I forget.

Serp's Hold, that's it.

Biggest problem really is the god-damn underground monster spawn issue. It's really event destroying.

Re: The Vanguard Attacks! (Some Spoilers)

I didn't see any in Serpent's Hold, but on Cats, we definitely had Vanguard in Nujelm and Papua.

The underground spawn was less of an issue in Papua than Nujelm. I think I'm going to stick to hunting there.

Re: The Vanguard Attacks! (Some Spoilers)

I believe, and correct me if I am wrong, the restless souls and the pirates are able to be killed by faction members. Now in Cove, you can drag them to the docks and kill them. Not sure in the other cities if you can drag them somewhere where they are vulnerable.

You mean a "Black Order Mage of the Dragon Flame Sect"?

These commonly spawn in The Citadel, the peerless dungeon that hosts our friendly neighborhood Travesty.

They punch like little meanie EV-mage-hybrids, but their spells are like getting hit with cornflakes, since they do so little damage.

The badges they drop can be used in the 'Black Order Badges' quest.
