Yeah it sure is handy to communicate in hunts and champspawns and such. I dont know how we ever did without it

I've never used teamspeak. I hunt solo so it would look pretty weird if I did use Teamspeak!

First, I was laughing my butt off at that Tuka...and I needed a laugh.

Second, anyone real familiar with setting up TS or Vent as a server? If so, Im gonna want some help, namely:

How to open ports if neccessary.

How to set it up to always be running, as a server, even after restart and such.

Also, basic interaction with UO sound wise. Does it mesh with the UO sounds, or do you get one or the other?

not sure what u need to know and I am not real knowledgable about it. But I do know that I listen to both uo sound and voices jsut have to adjust the sounds

Where are you setting up the server? Linux or on your windows computer?

If its a linux webserver, you just have to add a line to a startup script like /etc/rc.d/rc.local ..... just depends on what distro your using..

If its windows.. Well I'll set it up on my win2k server and tell you how it goes..

Open ports through a router?? Is that what you mean.. Its usually quite easy too.. just a couple of quick settings for whichever port you choose to use.

Install it.

Run it.

It should give you a password for two users. superadmin and admin

For the ports, depending on your router, go to its local address. Usually 192.168.0.1
It should have port forwarding options somewhere. add a new process called "TeamspeakServer" and open the ports starting at 8767 and ending at 8767 and route it to the machine its on. The apply, save, and close. You can admin your teamspeak by right clicking on the tray icon and clicking administration.

But I wasnt trying to imply anything really! Was just wondering...

well I type in icq and play UO at the same time...thats why I end up with o0o0o0o0o0o and black and white screens all the time...lol...

I was just saying that they cannot say that using chat programs are illegal, its not affecting the game in any way like easy uo and stuff.

I have joined in on other Ventrillo and Teamspeak servers with other guilds and it is a godsend!!! There will be people that talk loudly or softly where you need their input/output volume changed. Normally if it is too loud for one person it is too loud for everyone. Dont be afraid to speak up on it as you are the one trying to hear and help them out. Just think how to bring it up other then 'shut the @#$ up' Really, the only problem I have is that when my wife and I play (where our computers are in reach of eachother) I can hear her headset from my seat and always hear the echo that it causes. Small complant considering the benifits of a voice server though.

yeah I have that same problem with getting the echo from my wifes.
One time someone did tell my wife to shut the f*@% up
She almost quit the game cause of that I had to really talk to her alot.
And what makes it bad is the guy never apologized. he still plays but my wife just ignores him now
But she has got alot better and not talking so loud and not trying to control the conversations. She intends no harm she just likes to talk, heck her whole family is like that. When I got visit them it amazes me cause they all talk at the same time yet seem to be able to understand what everyone is saying. Me I am just totally confused after about 30 minutes of it lol
