...... I have read the stickies on mage and spent much time reading the info on wrestling and resisting spells. i would like to here what you think.
In your opinion would you keep…..wrestling and /or resisting spells My Mage/ tamer template; Numbers shown are future goals. Actual numbers are lower Primary skill-----------------------A. taming -110 ------------------------------------A lore -----110 ------------------------------------VET------- 100 ------------------------------------------------320---------- 320 2ndary skill----------------------- Mage ------100 ------------------------------------Med------- 100 ------------------------------------------------200---------- 520 3rd--------------------------- Evaluating Int -___ --------------------------------Wrestling----- ___ -------------------------------Resisting spells -___ Ok what would you add for your 3rd skills? this will only be used for PVM. so i'm thinking E.I. will not be important. but wrestling and or resisting spells.

I would not waste it on wrestling because as a tamer you will and should not be worrying about being agressive, if anything use the swords of prosp, or a staff of the magi. resist is also kind of pointless in pvm if youre a tamer, as you will not be the primary target. My tamer/mage is as follows
120 lore, tame, vet 115 mage eval 110 med I just threw focus into the last few skills points til i decided to go 120s on the rest. This way, you can be a stand alone mage if your doing something else without pets. you dont want your vet that low, you want it ATLEAST 110 for sure. Get magery and eval up to atleast 110 also, you dont want to be fizzling all the time at your EVs and rezzes. 110 you will fail much less often.

It's usual to max your Taming, Lore and Vet out at 120 each, because that gives you the maximum number of stable slots, and also maximum control over all of your pets, and the ability to use Animal Lore on any mob.
By the way, your choice of font size and color makes your post extremely hard to read, I had to highlight it just to be able to read it. Have pity on old eyes and switch to something larger and easier to read, please. ![]()

Galadriel 120 Animal Tame 120 Animal Lore 120 eval 120 mage 120 med 120 Vet Its subject to change, i have 65 odd resist on her and im tempted to drop something so i can get that up higher but dunno. Phoenix-Cathy 120 Animal Lore 120 Animal Tame 120 Magery 120 Med 120 Vet 120 Spellweaving again, subject to change depending on how i feel like changeing her, spellweaving is a great skill, im highly tempted with this girl to drop vet for something more useful as i can rez with gift of life and as she is a pvm tamer i heal from afar most of the time because i do peerlesses on her (specially mel's)

Sorry about the color. When I posted the background of the window I was given to type on was black. And the type color was another shade of black. Why? I have no idea.
I use a UO look similar to static’s colors for my skin. Anyway those was the only colors I could see in the window I typed in to make this post. May be I need to ask Adam what’s going on with the color? lol

I have a Peace/Tamer:
120 Tame 120 Lore 120 Peace 115 Music 110 Magery (Get good casting % on EVs with only 110) 80 Med (I have MR on my char as well as Mage Armor and I can med all my mana up with only 80 med. Used the 20 I saved to increase music and magery) 105 Vet (still fail on some rez attempts and I don't get the full heal I ould get with 120 but it works for now) Total at this point is 770 with all my bonus' from Jewels, Tome, vet bonus' |

Id say Music and Peace (or Discord) for 3rd skills.
Music soars up real quick and Peace follows at a good pace behind it. Theyll both be past GM probably quite a bit before Taming if you work them equally. And they make taming the higher end critters all that much easier... |

I use the following, which I find works damn well. Allows me to peace the animals I am taming or if attacking I can do multiple targets at once (eg pet on 1 and monster on monster).. even more if there are more monsters around. Can be stacks of fun :grin:
Taming - 110.0 (100 base) Vet - 100.0 Lore - 110.0 (100 base) Magery - 100.0 Provo - 110.0 (100 base) Peace - 100.0 Music - 120.0 |

Best fun mage tamer I ended up finishing was:
120 tame, lore and vet GM magery, eval, hiding 60 stealth I kept eval on her so she could do damage with spells when needed, but you could always change it out for summat else I also had a spellweaver mage tamer: Tame, lore, vet, magery, spellweave, med, tactics. She used a mage wep, hence the tactics. Would probably have worked well with hiding instead of tactics but I didn't want to clone my main lass Wenchy |
