Tailoring question reguarding Barbed kits

Does your level of Tailoring skill effect the number of properties and intesities of what you craft with runic kits?
I just burned through 2 barbed kits at 103 tailoring and while I got a few decent pieces I didn't get anything really that great. Would I have gotten much better pieces had I been 120?

Re: Tailoring question reguarding Barbed kits

It shouldnt...Tailoring Skill should only effect your ability to craft and if it comes out exceptional or not.

Properties from a Runic kit should be totally random as far as whcich properties and the intensities.

And that my dears is one of the saddest things for a crafter. We work and work and finally get something like a Horned or Verite... and end up with nothing to show for it because of the randomness. We manage to get several with the stats we could get from a lower kit, OR and I have had this happen... ONE additional stat... makes you want to cry and throw things!!!

Aye it is so random that out of frustration for me, it is better and more profitable to sell my runic kit and let the other person try their luck at making worthwhile item.

I have not used one yet but if the rewards are so random why do they sell for so much.My crafter could never afford to buy one so is it worth it.

Re: Tailoring question reguarding Barbed kits

its because of the ability to get an uber item which could sell for 3-5 mil... they are rare but do turn up every so often.. you can also get alot of items which cansellfor 100-700k so they can be worth it..

Re: Tailoring question reguarding Barbed kits

Thanks for the replies. Guess it's just luck = /
Burned through another kit and got a couple not too shabby pieces. Bah, 10.5mil later...Now I'm broke again >.<
My problem is I've no clue what to sell the pieces at. Knowing my luck they'll just sit on the vendor eating fees.
Ah well, I've got one account completely empty on LA so I guess it's time to crank out 6 little tailors and start collecting lotso BoDs

Re: Tailoring question reguarding Barbed kits

And THAT! is another issue.. once you get those rare and elusive kits, and you draw a little luck and get a nice item... where is the market? Sales are slow on player made armor and weapons..... extremely slow.

Re: Tailoring question reguarding Barbed kits

Been wondering, When using a barbed kit is it better to make the stuff out of normal leather then try to enhance later? Will you get better properties that way in the end?
Or better to use specific leather at the get go?

Re: Tailoring question reguarding Barbed kits

The way I hear it that would not have an effect on the end product. What the enhancement adds is about what it would have had if the fancy leather had been used in the first place. The only advantage I can see is that you would be using normal leather instead of expensive leather so if you got junk and cut it up, you wouldn't be using the good stuff up needlessly.

I wish they would make it so that you get better results the higher your tailoring is.
Would give some extra incentive to Legendary skills.
