Stupid spiders.

Is anyone else as sick of the spiders in Britain as I am? I just made a new character, a blacksmith. They dropped her in Britain, and there were no spiders in the area of town I got left in. So, I ran off to the cave and mined as much ore as I could hold. I head back to use the blacksmith's tools, and get killed by a spider monster. I keep going to heal and trying to get my stuff, but then I get killed by the blasted thing again becasue they use magic. I can't run fast enough to get away. I probably have 20 corpses lying around now, and I've lost my pickaxe and everything I started off with as I've finally given up on the stupid body. I really hope this whole spiders in Britain thing ends soon. That's my prefered place to work, but I can't work if I'm getting killed for taking 5 steps. -_-

Re: Stupid spiders.

It's always hard balancing events and individual player goals. Hang in there, doesn't happen too often.
Or often enough depending on your point of view.

Re: Stupid spiders.

Spiders in Brit? I haven't played in a bit so I haven't seen any. They really need to work out a way to protect new characters from in-town deaths. It is silly for a new player or character to get dropped into a combat zone.

Yeah. They're called something with a T. I don't remember the name of the monster, but they look like spiders with humanoid upper bodies. They use magic, and do way too much damage. There's no way I could ever kill one, but they've killed me countless times. My main character on my brother's account got killed last time I signed into that one, too.

They've been around for at least a few days, probably more like a week or more by now, though.

Re: Stupid spiders.

I'd say just go to Haven for now, do an escort quest (they're everywhere, and you don't have to go to another town), and use the gold to buy a new pickaxe. Mountains to the SW are safe enough or close enough to a guard zone to be safe.

Re: Stupid spiders.

Ya Terathans in Britain only on Oceania Shard. Their EM is running some kind of event and swarmed Britain with Terathans. Lots of new players don't like it, however, cause the moment you appear in Brit, you're going to die. I can see how its annoying, but be grateful that your EM actually does stuff! hehe.

Would've been better if the EM did it to another less travelled city, but oh well.

Re: Stupid spiders.

What I dont understand is why did they take away the option to choose your starting city??

Re: Stupid spiders.

The option to choose your starting city is still there, at least for some starting options. If you choose the advanced template, you are guaranteed your choice of starting city. Some of the pre-designed templates force a starting city on you, such as the Paladin, Necromancer, Samurai, and Ninja. If you are "young" status the Blacksmith template will force a starting city on you, also.
