Stratics downtime and improvement news

Just an FYI

Quote:
We have received this from our Network News Staff at Stratics.com:

Attention Dedicated Stratics Users and Staff,

Before this weekend arrives, we wanted to inform you of some new developments here on Stratics. We have heard your complaints and have listened. (Yes, we do do that...don't look at me funny...). As of this Thursday, September 6, our servers are being upgraded to pretty new servers that Den Dragon, founder of Stratics, nicknamed Alpha Red, Blue, and Black (do not ask me where he came up with these names, I do not know). At the same time of this upgrade, the servers are being moved to a brand spanking new location in California and away from Nevada.

The servers are being significantly upgraded.

In layman's terms, we're going from hamsters running the servers and dying, to SUPER Hamsters (tm) that never need food and rarely, if ever die.

Due to this upgrade, the servers will be down for a short amount of time. This is due to the fact that the old servers are being transported to the new servers so a nice smooth transition can occur. Once all this is complete, the new servers will be running all that old stuff.

What does this mean to you? Well, starting sometime this weekend, Stratics will be down for 24-72ish hours. At the end of this, it means Stratics will be on more reliable servers with better systems and much less downtime. It also means larger bandwidth, better load times, and more hard drive space to bring YOU the things you want to see on Stratics.

I think it has 8gb of ram in it, which we have a guaranteed 956mb of, burstable to 8 gig.

Re: Stratics downtime and improvement news

price scaled to use?

PS: Actually I was thinking more of bandwidth usage rather than memory.

Re: Stratics downtime and improvement news

I will simply sit back and take all of this for granted. I could care less if there was a super fast, record breaking secretary storing all of this info on one of those stenography machines. Then when needed she quickly reads it back to then another superfast typer person, who in turn...awww forget it.................I'm retarded.
