spawn chests

Training a lockpicker which is now at 75.0 skill.
Does anyone know if spawn chests are skill leveled?
If they are ....does anyone know at what level I will be able to open them?

Level Min. Skill Loot
1 52.0 0 to 60 gp
2 72.0 98 to 125 gp
3 84.0 200 to 350 gp
4 92.0 500 to 900 gp
5 100 don't spawn in dungeons

Skill Training
You can get up to 95.0 lockpicking with GM Carpentry/tinker made boxes (As far as I know only the tinker skill of the maker of the box determines the lock strength. Since lockpicking is target based, you need lots of boxes. The easiest way to organize them is in bags of 20, with a key ring holding the keys to re-lock all the boxes (key rings only hold 20 keys.)
After 95.0 lockpicking you can only gain by unlocking spawned chests in dungeons and towns

I have mine at 80. I hate those chests in dungeons that you pick, cast a few spells on to get rid of the traps and then the chest is empty. What is the deal with that?

Some chests are what is called "static" (they are just there for decoration).
A long time ago in a UO far far away junk used to spawn in them such as bone containers, beads (like you get at the jewlers) and body parts to name a few.

Well, that is some pretty deadly decoration. How can you tell what is the static trash and what is lootable?

Does logic follow that para chests follow the T/map level found inside
i.e. a para chest spawning a level 3 T/map needs a lockpick skill of 84+?

Static vs. Random: You can go here to get some good info and where to find them!

On Para chests: I believe that you are correct. The map that you will get determines the skill required to crack the para chest.
