[sorry I cant resist this ] The EA Damage Control/Reassurance Thread

source posted on Stratics last night by a player.

I just couldn't not make this thread....I tried to stop msyelf, I really did....What comes of it is anyone's guess.

It's now about 9:30pm on the West Coast.

Someone's probably still working out there, and if not working, then at home, drinking, checking the boards, and listening to some slow jazz.

Look at this thread as your chance to reassure us. If not tonight, then tomorrow morning. Early.

You have to admit that announcing this move at this particular moment was kind of not the best idea. On the eve of a major event that a lot of us were anticipating that now seems endangered? And with the expansion "delayed" for what appears to be an indefinite period? And then that dude claiming to be a laid off EA/UO employee, so far un-contradicted?

So....Log on and say something reassuring. Sure, some of us won't believe you, but if you are both sincere and credible, a lot of us will.

~~~~
My guess is
1. Even if they wanted to talk about it they couldn't
and
2. In case you hadn't noticed CA (where the Dev's in question are) is kinda in a little bit of a natural disaster atm... they are probably far more concerned with whats going on IRL around them than anything UO (and rightfully so).
~~~~

..

They're in/near San Fran... the fires are down in the LA/San Diego areas. They're quite a ways away from the fires from what I understand.

~~~~
.........[Isomeone from EA needs to come along and say at least that, and perhaps even something slightly more specific.
Because right now.....I, a long-time and loyal player who still logs in and genuinely has fun playing the game, am feeling extremely discouraged.
EA is beginning to make me feel like, and look like, a blasted fool for NOT repeatedly proclaiming UO's imminent death.
I'm sure you've all noticed by now that the Magincia event is NOT active. How many of us were looking forward to this. How many of us wanted some kind of content at all, as we wait for the SA expansion.
[/i]
~~~~

This is what I couldnt resisit posting

I just ran by the building and notice this....

Jeremy replied with

Quote:
The event is not at risk. It got held up as we're trying to roll a fix for the item highlighting bugs in with the last set of tweaks to the actual event, but everything for the event is actually ready to go.

The schedule for the move was set up so that we could hit all of our currently planned short-term goals (through November.) Longer-term goals will depend on who chooses to move and how fast we can replace the people who decide not to. (Which is why no one's talking about ship dates for SA right now - it's just too uncertain.)

Sorry I didn't get to this thread last night - Chris is on the West Coast this week, and I'm on the East, helping out with things over here. 9:30 PDT was 12:30 EDT, and I was sleeping the sleep of the stressed.

You forgot the empty Mountain Dew bottles/cans, and I'm sure you could make a killing recycling those in California.
