Finally something KR is better at. Almost worth collecting now.

Mixed opinion, some look good in UOKR, some look good in 2D
I'll reserve my opinions till UOKR goes Gold.

Re: Some Statues - 2D vs KR

I must admit after having a few days wondering around Britannia on the KR client I have to take my hat off to the development team. What they’ve accomplished here is proof of the talents of this development team. It couldn’t have been an easy task to unravel the big ball of 10 year old spaghetti code that is the 2D client and create the KR client from it.

Despite a few cosmetic issues I feel they’ve done a marvels job at capturing the essence of the 2D client with the new graphics. Though some of this essence is lost with the choice not to have an identical backpack and container system as the 2D client as an option. The 2D container and backpack system makes backpacks and containers feel like containers. It’s not a good idea either to limit the KR client of the many talented players who enjoy using items in the world to make art and set their own style and presentation in containers and backpacks swapping it with one that takes the players personality out of it.

I have no real issues with the UI. It’s easy enough to learn. I just wish you could customize it so you don’t have to have your portrait on your health bar etc.You can more or less assign the same key’s to press as you did in Uo assist to do your target self with bandaids or potion drinking and weapon swapping. I can see how others will miss some of the more complex macro features that UO A allowed but, the author of Uo A is working on a UO A for KR. Overall I like the KR client and think the dev team has done a very good job. The first attempt of a 3d client for Uo doesn’t even come close to this one. It blows the old 3d client out of the water imho. Good work dev team!

Re: Some Statues - 2D vs KR

Oh I definitely believe the development team worked hard on KR. The art looks nice in promotion, but when you are in game, looking at your items and character and your pets, it really doesn't say "oh look how much hard work it took to make this" It says disproportionate sizing, off colors, .. well they can tweak and polish and make it all nicer true. If the paperdoll stops looking like the wicked witch of hades and containers become organizable and proportions become more appropriate... My beetle now takes up a third of my room blocking views.. you can't just get off and park it safely in your home... Maybe if we could stable from home... but you have to stay on them to protect your investment.. There's just a lot of things left to do and I am hoping they don't stop too soon.
