How would other players out there, across all shards, feel if their shard's Event Moderator was also not only the head forum mod for that same shard's forum on the "official" forum site, but also the guildmaster of the largest guild on that same shard?

To take it further, how would they feel if this person under their role as forum mod had been responsible for banning most posters they have personal problems with? Or had used their leverage as the guildmaster of the shard's largest guild to have other players' event blacklisted, players harassed, et cetera?

So how would some others of you feel? Should this person be the shard's EM? Contracted and paid by Electronic Arts?

Also, how would you feel if that same EM has not had an event at all this season? (on Napa)

Too many conflicts of interest there. An EM (employed by EA) shouldn't be a Stratics moderator, and should not be part of a large guild that participates in EM events. Just my opinion, of course. I'd address your concerns to the new Community Relations people, Sanya or She-Jeremy.

For a large negotiable fee, Dip and I would happily step in and assume the duties and responsibilities associated with EM. We are not on that other forum's payroll or xmas list.

It's taxing on one's availability..running their own little fantasy dictatorship. Have to keep the "sandbox" in order. Notice I did not say "clean".

But take away personal experiences many of us have had with this person, and isn't there still a huge, underlying conflict of interest with this?

Is it not EA's own policy that Event Moderators will not be the EMs of the shards on which they regularly play?

And this isn't to say that people who work or have worked for Stratics shouldn't be employed by EA. There have been some wonderful, wonderful members of the UO team who have come from Stratics.

I really would like to hear any thoughts about it, though. Especially if a member of the UO team should read this. There is no "EM Review", or "EM Lead" or even an Interest Game Master Lead to contact and point out what is going on...

The lack of EM events on Napa really hasn't bothered me since..well..I don't care to attend them anymore given who is underneath that black robe and the experiences I've had with this person, in-game as he was EM, in-game as he was a fellow player, and outside the game as the shard forum's senior mod over on those "official" forums.

Quality of forum mods is one thing. As is their behaviour as a player in-game. But when they're _also_ the EM for the same shard?

Did you raise any of this with EA themselves?

My thoughts also, why are you posting about this on a forum,seeing as how none of us can really answer any of your questions.

I am sure EA will be only to happy to reply with their reasons why,if your claims are legitimate.

We have sent e-mails, yes, but they've all been shots in the dark for the reason I state above. There is no direct, "proper" channel, so I've posted about it here since this is a forum community for the players.

Because...I wanted to discuss something that is going on in regards to the game with my fellow players? Or perhaps even hope that someone, anyone from EA-Mythic might read this and look into it? Perhaps I thought open discussion with others might produce something positive? I'm sorry?

Well, as to the legitimacy, a bunch of Napa players didn't sit around the bank one evening and pull this out of a moongate... Unfortunately, it seems to be very, very difficult to get across to others of the UO community what the situation is without sounding like a token U'All "i hate the em/gm/dev so-and-so they don't like my guild we never get items and we were unjustily banded from forums and i know its him i know it".

I would discuss it with Sanya or Jeremy if I were you. If that is all true then there should be something done about it.

Is Glamdring not around anymore? He was the head of the EMs a while back...
