Ok so we can now collect these again (however it appears that the new snakeskins only come in one color).
What are your various theories as to what they will be useful for? (besides the turn-in values)?

My thinking is that the threads of life and fate that we got from the alt-glow event will be used to somehow modify the cloaks of corruption.
Now if that turns out to be the case is it possible that these new snakeskins will be used to modify hooded robes of shadows?
or make belts?
snakeskin soup?
Add mods to the snakeskin boots?
Scare the little girls with?
"hey little girly,want to see my big snakeskin?"

Where are you finding these Ophidians that drop the skins/rations? I would like to see if I can take down a few and get some more turn-ins, as I wasn't playing during the other events.

Hey Littleblue, I was just killing some in T2A last night, I got some rations but no snakeskins...I'm thinking of doing a hunting party Fri or Sat, I missed the first go around with them as well, let me know if you'd be interested in going.

Do the snakeskins drop as loot or do you have to literally skin them?

They drop on the corpse... thought the RNG is having a field day with this one, 2 hrs of nothing then 12 rations and four skins :p

They drop as loot but they are rarer than the rations.

the skins are loot in the coffin.
all seem to have equal chance of having a skin,my experince is about one in 20 or 30 Ophids will have a skin,can't hardly miss them,they are a neon yellow color.
the rations are conciderably more numerous.

About the snakeskins, I have 15, and 1 of the 15 is a different, darker yellow. The RBG samples are 222/206/0 and 231/189/0. Has anyone else noticed these two colors? Are there more than two?

This up coming Friday @9pm we are going snake hunting again, since last weeks was so much fun. Meeting up in Skara Brae first, bank or community center, I can't remember.
