silver in atlantic

Today i was redesigning my home goin through old boxes of stuff some that havent seen light in 5 years and i came across about 3500 silver. Dont even remember having gotten it but anyway. Is there any use for silver on atlantic or is it just a siege item?

It's a factions item on regular publish shards.

Faction silver is used as currency, to buy faction traps, to buy faction guards, etc.

Generally to obtain faction silver, you have to be in factions and have to kill monsters from an opposing faction. I don't remember what monsters correspond to what factions, but I do know that daemons are one of them, silver serpents are one.

At one point (about 3 years ago) there was a glitch in the system that allowed anyone who killed a daemon in fel (or any other faction related monster) to loot faction silver, regardless of whether or not they were in factions. A lot of people (not in factions) picked up a lot of silver at this time in UO history, and if you don't remember getting it and were never in factions, that's probably when you got it or when it was obtained.

Also I believe at one point in time if you killed a opposing faction member you were rewarded with silver as well.
