Runic hammers

Hello,

Just a couple of questions really about runic hammers, I am thinking of investing quiet alot of gold in valorite ingots and a runic hammer of some kind... i know I have little chance in affording valorite or verite runic hammers but I was wondering if the runic hammers worked in the same way as ingots? what i mean by this is, if i make my plate mail out of gold it has luck 40, i think.. and if i use a runic hammer on it like shadow as i have a few of them i seem to make more higher luck gains... so if i were to buy a golden runic hammer and make platemail from valorite would there be a higher chance of getting luck increases as i am using the golden hammer, which i don't want, i want resists and some special combo's like lmc or things like this....

what is a good runic hammer to invest in? and is valorite ingots the best for resists?

sorry to sound noobish i just don't want to invest my money in the wrong way....

thanks, :shocked:

Re: Runic hammers

Well, what my hopes are, with the new race coming to UO (probably dwarves) They may fix the blacksmithing skill. As it is now, runics are a bit broken, but you may want to just pick up whatever runic you can on the chance that they fix it. Just my two cents.

Re: Runic hammers

The type of hammer only affects the strengh on the mods that are being applied and also the number of mods.

So a higher type of hammer give more mods with higher % etc on them.

And if ya doing armour, go with Barbed kits since blacksmithing sucks on armours.

Armours = Tailors
Weapons = Smiths

Thats the general rule.

And yes.. atleast Gold hammer or else you will not get any weapon you will find "fun" ...

Re: Runic hammers

I usually only buy gold hammers, but I have got some semi-decent stuff from bronze hammers. I usually make war forks, kryss's. I have gotten quite a few excellent items from the gold hammers. Also, dont waste your gold on buying ingots. Work up a miner. I did that, as my first character, and gmed it in no time. You will find the work to be more rewarding if you go and get the supplies yourself. But I do agree, armor-tailor, weapons-smith. Its the only way to go. You can get better garbage off of monster loot than you get with a hammer making armor...

Re: Runic hammers

I used to burn thru DC and Shadow hammers with DC ingots making daggers for my fencer. They would always be exceptional for the 35% DI, they always had increased Durability from the DC ingots, they used very little ingots, and I just hoped for Slayers.

Got quite a few too...all gone when I put my acct on pause. The only wep I had left when i reactivated was my Nights Kiss that he had on him...
