IMO this just seems like another upset player that got banned for doing something illegal that is trying to get attention and make a big fuss over it to get their way just so they can continue to use their "2nd party" program. As far as the Sleep Apnea if you fail to take your meds then that is your fault someone else's. And there is surgery to correct carpal tunnel, had this surgery last year and I feel great. Can type all day at my job then come home and type on here as well as play UO. And another thought just hit me...not only does UO have bandage self but UOAssist has it too.

Just seems like another similar story I read about shortly after EA started the initial round of bannings...

Whiny guy is pissed that he got banned and is using carpal tunnel as an ADA claim. (Does carpal tunnel seriously qualify for ADA coverage? I know at least 20 people with carpal tunnel, and none of them claim to be "disabled.")

This country is sue-happy and it's disgusting. TAKE RESPONSIBILITY FOR YOUR ACTIONS.

Personally I don't think it is covered since carpal tunnel can be surgically repaired. ADA only applies to permanent life altering injuries, illness', etc.

ummm, if the macro was for bandies, and he fell asleep while the macro was running, what was he doing to need to bandage; and how was he surviving?
Just like a tripper, focus on the negative on other folks, divert attention away from the other issues, like farming unattended, etc.

I myself think what they did is correct, he said there were "offenses" I've played UO for 9 yrs and I've never been banned. As for the sickness, I get headaches does that mean EA should let me run a 2nd party so I don't have to concentrate looking at my screen?? It's called suck it up like we all do. Take breaks and do what you are able to do with your own issues, don't make them other peoples issues.

I don't think the whole ADA or descrimination thing would fly. Maybe if he worked for EA and this was his job it would. This is voluntary, no one forces him to play for hours straight lol.

but maybe that was because my head hurt and I could not focus on UO because I fell asleep and hit my head on my monitor and my 2nd party app was not working right because the product that was made for a specific target market was discriminating against me and the bad weather here was interfering with my ISP and its all EA's fault!!! Oh wait thats not it. It was a bunch of Bull and made me laugh thats what it was:grin:

Personally, I see nothing wrong with using UO Assist and any of the programs that have been written to go along with it to make it loop itself (not sure if I'm allowed to mention that program, I don't think its been deemed "legal") to macro, AS LONG AS YOU'RE ATTENDED.

And I hate to break it to this guy, but sleep apnea is usually curable. He most likely wouldn't have it in the first place if he wasn't sitting on his butt playing UO all day and actually got outside for some exercise on a daily basis.

And as for carpal tunnel....suck it up, sissy. With all the computer work you're expected to do in high school and college these days, most people between the ages of 16-24 have carpal tunnel. I have it in both arms, and you don't hear me complaining. Like everyone else said, no one is forcing him to play UO all day. Since when can you sue someone for not making it easier for you to do a recreational activity? So does that mean I can sue my apartment complex, because I was wearing fuzzy socks and slipped on my kitchen floor and tore a tendon in my knee, which didn't heal right, which now means I can't go jogging? No, its my own stupid fault for wearing fuzzy socks on a tile floor. :grin:

There is only one valid point I agree with him on and its the point system.

I have been marked once against something that wasn't in my case, found offensive to anyone yet someone had the urge to page on me for no reason and I found my self suspended. The gm that came even agreed with me that it wasn't an offensive statement I made, yet he had to file the report and what do you know, I get slapped with 72hrs.

yes thats it... I was talking with friends about japanese and other foreign foods as one of those random moments of conversation and someone at the right place/wrong time took offense...

ok back to subject. I believe that if the offense is petty, the points should be removed over a duration of time. If you get 72hrs for a petty ban like mine, it should decay after 6 months.

first time offenders afk macroing will have that point removed after 1yr. 2 offenses wil result in 1 permanent point so on so on.

so basically, if you commit enough crimes in one year, you will get banned. If you commit the ultimate crime (something extremely offensive to the game or players) you're auto banned.

Basically it gives honest players the ability to repent for their mistakes. repeat offenders will eventually get what they have coming to them.

That is the only valid point I will agree with him to any extint.

How do you know when you have been reported? Does someone from UO contact you? Do you get warned? I have no idea how it happens.
