Resist Question

Hello,

I have not played UO in years but I just actived my account and noticed alot of new things... First question I have is about the resists I have GM resists but I noticed the armor now has resists on it too.. but when I swap out a pcs I don't see the resists changing besides Phys... Can some one explain that too me? how do armor resists work compaired to GM?

Another thing I noticed were all the new skills I'm guessing my 7x townie is pretty shot now... Could someone tell me what is a good spec now adays? and how do I raise my HPs above 100? I saw a few posts about ppl having 150 hps and stuff...

And please add anything else you might think I need to know.. its been about 2 1/2 - 3 years since I played I have all then Exp.packs besides 9th age? (i think thats what it is)

Thanks
DarkHawk

Re: Resist Question

The deal with Resisting Spells, is that it only lowers the affects of non-damaging spells now. However, it also provides a base resist (for GM Resisting Spells, that base is 40) but does not stack with armor. If you stacked your armor resists and they are higher than the base resist of Resisting Spells, then you would notice a difference.

I couldn't tell you what template to go with. Obviously there are some skills now that are completely useless, and some that work differently (like Resisting Spells). Furthermore I don't know what you're current template is so it's hard to say what direction you should go.

HP higher than 100 is acquired by raising your strength beyond 100 (the cap is 125) or acquiring gear with HP and strength increases.

Good luck my friend.

Re: Resist Question

A fine template, though be aware that many options lay before you.

Here are a few skills you may consider: Chivalry, Necromancy, Bushido, or Ninjitsu and also Focus. These are the "newer" skills, I suppose, to the perspective of someone returning to UO, and are good auxiliary skills to warriors.

Also be aware that there are items called "Soulstones" and "Soulstone fragments" (which are soulstones but with limited uses) that you can use to save your skill points. So, if you want to save a hard-earned skill and give it to another character, you can do that.
