I don't have a good feel for the market anymore, since I'm still in sticker shock that everything seems so CHEAP on Lake Austin, after 9 years on Atlantic!

I'm all for it (the drop in prices, that is). The economy is hugely over-inflated anyway, after all the gold duping and crap like that over the years. Sellers get used to these big profits just because it's always been that way, but just because it has always been doesn't make it reasonable.

At the same time, a lot of players will pay for convenience. (See: Luna). They're rather just walk a few steps and buy something, rather than visit multiple shops seeking the best price.

In the end, there will always be money to be made selling and reselling things in UO. At the same time, a savvy shopper will always find a better deal.

Re: Recent drops in UO economy

I got my CC from mel as well but I wish someone in the guild would just get one. If I got another one I would donate to the guild cuz I really dont need two unless I want to sell it but I would rather make the guild stronger then me becoming rich.

I vision one of our goals, where we become so comfortable collecting keys for peerless that we could do multiple runs in one event (3 is a good number, lol)

Oh yeah, gotta love that. Everytime Ive ever made the effort to go to the gaunlet, I look around and I'm like "WHO FORGOT THE BARD?!?!?" because theres 2-3 dark fathers waiting to play. How considerate of them!

Actual game time come to about less than 1/2 an hour a day. But I stayed logged in Doom the whole time and did nothing but it when I did get on.

Still, even after all the peerless I've done, does not amount to the time I've spent in doom, and have gotten far more stuff from peerless (loot, ingredients, etc.) than Doom (minus this last run).

Id rather have any doom artifact over an ML item any day IMO, but you're right it does take a wholeee lot more effort. Its easier to just let someone else to do the work and buy whatever it is you need. I'd be happy if I never saw another fleshrenderer or dark father again in my life !

Re: Recent drops in UO economy

Nev, I got the Cincture last year, and have done probably 30-40 peerless since and just got ingredients (plenty to make some good stuff). The Doom arties I got the other night were the Blade of Insanity and the Divine Countenance.

Yeah, I know what you mean Carl, sometimes I wish I had the gold to buy what I want, specially if it meant no more fleshrenderers.

The price for gold has gone up, by at least a dollar per Mil. Or am I shopping at the wrong place?

Re: Recent drops in UO economy

I think its just a little bump with the whole closing of the 3d client and KR teetering on the horizon. People are probably undercutting some prices because they are scared that they could become worthless in a few months. Either due to drop in subscription rates (Kingdom Reborn) or new items that make the older less valuale (Stygian Abyss)

I wouldnt worry terribly about it. Prices have been out of hand for most casual players for some time now...

Gold is at $2 per very commonly, I know a few reliable sellers at 1.6-1.75. I'd say your looking in the wrong spots!
