Recent drops in UO economy

I'm not sure if anyone has noticed this, but I would like to address a recent change that I've noticed in my shard's economy that has become increasingly apparant since the day ebay banned the sale of virtual goods.

I have noticed a steady drop in the price of all high end items, and I think it is largely due to the ban on the sale of virtual goods. It may be due to the fact that summer is quickly approaching, more players are griding peerless/doom therefore creating more high end items to circulate, but either way it seems like every week items like Inquisitors Resolution and Crimson Cincture become more common and less expensive. Now, this is good for people who are buying but it stinks for people like me who resell them. Either way its a good thing, items were way too overpriced when I first came back to UO late last year. What do you guys think about this? Anyone else noticing a steady decline on their shards?

Re: Recent drops in UO economy

Some things I see priced more than what I remember before. But the higher end like you said is going down a bit.

It should only be expected because

A. There are only so many customers.
B. They've probably already got most of what they need.
C. Given time, everything that can still be obtained (i.e. anything that still spawns), goes down in price.

On LA there has been a decline too. Chargers were 8MIL are now 5MIL etc. I'm happy with it

I understand that there is only a limited number of buyers for such items, but the demand hasnt really gone down from what I can see. I mean, how long have doom artifacts been around for? Theyve only recently been falling.. I guess there's too many factors to take into consideration with items dropping but Ive just noticed it more than ever recently.

Re: Recent drops in UO economy

people were probably just buying UO Gold before when they wanted these things. Prices for that have gone way up since E-bay isn't available now.

Re: Recent drops in UO economy

Well, I'll have to say it is much easier to get anything Peerless related than it is any Doom arty.

I also think Doom arties held more of a value than any other, it's hard to base prices for things when they all hold different value. One would think Vet rewards would go up in price by a lot, considering you have to open new accounts and wait their time to get more.

Good point, I just got a set of copper veteran clothes for 400k and ethereal mounts have stayed consistent (if not dropped a bit themselves) but you'd think that the prices on them would increase due to how hard they are to get.
