I am looking at collecting A LOT of sets of Honor Plate.
I know Swoop Drops the Gorget.
I have heard he also drops the gloves.

So my question to those who have gotten pieces of Honor Plate Set items, which ML critters did you get them off of?
I figure for a few piece I will have to hunt Peerless and I will probably have to buy some pieces too. But I want to get as many as possible, without paying 750k per piece.

No specific monster drops specific items except the grizzle and his special armor named after him.
You have a chance to get a armor set piece from any ML critter (not just the named ones).
The higher the fame of the creature the better your chances.

Yep, what Flutter said. I've only gotten 1 piece of the Myrmidon armor and that was off Miasma a couple of weeks after ML was released. Maybe I just need to check the corpses a little better since most times I'm just grabbing the gold and not really looking at the armor.

Mr Tact or Wilki said something about this. Basically all named (peerless bosses included) have a chance to drop ANY set item, once the yes or no is decided for the drop it then goes through a "roll" to see which item from all the sets it wants to drop, some have a higher % to drop than others, which is why people think that swoop only drops X and miasma only drops Y, not true.

Ahhh very interesting. When I was reading Wilki's post I was having trouble comprehending what he was saying. I came to the conclusion in the end that there are two types of set items "Minor" and "Major" and that certain creatures will spawn minor ones, and peerless spawn Major ones.

Ok I guess this solves my problem and answers my question.

Has anyone noticed one of these guys giving more items than another? Perhaps because of higher fame?

It's not just named critters tho
I have gotten them off of dryads and cu sidhe and a couple of things in the crystal dungeon.

Unfortunitly I suck at killing Cu Sidhes and I suck at killing Dryads LOL.
can never seem not to die.....but have you noticed them dropping a fair amount of the time?

The Cu do.. they have a really high amount of fame, just keep in mind you will loose karma fast and then everything there will want to eat you.

Got three different set items so far, all of them from the various named undead critters in Bedlam. One of those pieces was the Honor plate arms.

Done a fairly large amount of Miasmas and never seen a single set item from those, but since so many others claim to have gotten them I guess it has to be possible. So I'll keep at it.

I've favored Bedlam mainly because it's often totally empty on Europa, so I get to solo the critters meaning I get all the loot. So if a set item spawns, it's mine for sure :grin:

I have found Bedlam very cramped. Do you play an Archer? Tamer? Warrior? Bard?
