So here's a fun question for this week.

Here's the situation..

You win an EA/UO contest. They tell you that you can completely change something in the game. Overhaul a huge part of the game, but you can only choose one part from the choices below. The choices are broad, giving you a huge chunk of the game to play with.

What do you choose and why?

(This is a just for fun, where your interests are type of thing, try not to get all upset because you want everything on the list changed!)

For myself I said RP/Events. I've always loved planning events and what not. And even though I'm happy with my shard, I hear so many stories of people who are unhappy. Not saying I could necessarily do any better, but I'd love to have control of it for a while to play out some stories lines hehe

My pet peeve is the whole Fel/Tram debate. For instance I had some neighbors, in Malas, they were the baddest PK guild in all of UO! Well, if thier loudmouths could be believed. They would threaten other players to try and get them to leave so this guild could get more houses. Did I mention we live in Malas?? Anyway I placed 3 houses around there and they finally gave up and moved on, I was too much of a Trammy for them to live near anyway.

My change would be to make me happy. I would make a Fel Shard and a Tram Shard. All lands would be available on both. Free transfers for the first month. (whole accounts if you want) Then we could let each playstyle have thier own Shard and PvP/PvM changes would not affect the other. The Shard population would determine what any new Shards would have for the ruleset.

It would be too expensive and impractical but I still like the idea.

Other than that I really have no problem with the game as it is.

I picked the "monster stat" one, but that would only be a part of it.

Changing the way that Dryads Charms and player Bard Music works would be on there. As would giving monsters and pets Line of Sight so pets dont charge a wall everytime theres someting on the other side.

Basically Id like to just play with most of the aspects of PvM. Since Tuks idea would make that independent of any PvP fixes, lets let him win the contest first :qgreenjum

DEFINATELY EM Events for me! I think the EM's that I've dealt with do an amazing job with one exception... the timing of events. Weekdays between 9 and 10 PM just doesn't work.. I know, I know, its the "peak hours".. but considering most adults work, I suspect its mostly kiddies dodging their homework that are up for an hour+ long event and invetiably afterwards the screams of "Gimme". I'd vary the times so that players from all time zones, day workers, night workers, students, etc. would get a chance at an event.

I would take away the scientific magic attributes and give Taste Identification a better quote than “Does this milk taste bad to you?” as well as make it so GM Tasters can leave a stamp on an item "Tasted by Amir Watcher".

Personally, I wish they'd scrap the EM system and replace it with the old Seer/councelor system, or replace it with the old scenario team, they brought in long lasting content, with new art, systems and items.

(savages, new orcs, ants etc)

I agree with scrapping the EM thing. My favorite scenario was the Solen Invasion. Lots of fun, lots of teamwork. (yes we stood in line to fight Queens in GL/Tram)

Bring back and be in charge of Counselors

I wasn't around for this program, but I believe it would be one helluvan experience to do. I mean, I've got GM-Like powers and a cool robe STUCK to my body! How awesome would that be?
