On legends I have to say the EM isn't doing such a great job. I'd love to take part in them but I don't even know they are happening until I fid out by Stratics' via the Legends forums and even then I hardly know what happens. I'm on alot of the time and so if there is ever a mass system message like we use to get I don't see them. And some of the EM events on our shard never seem to get finished. if someone says there other's are getting favoritism with the EM then things go to hell. when we had the Nightmare Casino it was destroyed because others said that the player that was selected to run the casino due to the EM was leaving others said that the person that would be left in charge was getting Favoritizm and other such none sense so they just said screw it and burned it. With no explanation for it. Also if you look around varity of places alot of the things from old events where never finished. I mean a building in Trinisic has the roof on fire still from 2 or so years ago event. I would have to say Legends has the worst Events because they never get finished and alot of the time there is events the only folks you see at them are those that say "Gimmie a sash" And when they get them the next hour you see it on a vendor for about 4 to 6 million. I personally think the Events have lost its orginial meaning for storyline for rp to allow players to take part in the world around us.

I would say there does need to be some sort of notification for the events tho... I know its my own fault, but I always hear about the events afterwards, and the times I have gone to serpents hold the gem is green and nothing is going on... then whoops you missed it.... :embarasse

Are the events usually on different days?

I ask because the majority of our events are on Wed or Thurs and usually always around the same starting time.

The only time it seems to change is when we are at a big point in the event, then we will have extra ones during the week and sometimes on weekends. To me anyway, things seem fairly consistant on our shard.

I'm surprised that it's so sporatic on others...

OUR em sucks ...period

On Atlantic it's been mostly either Tuesday or Wednesday. And around 7-pmPST. The shield would appear in the throne room in Brit Castle and the fish counter. I don't think the fish is reliable though.

I play Great Lakes and as far as I know we don't have an EM. I've only stumbled upon one 'event' and it was pretty lame. He gated to somewhere, lot of people spamming crap (not the EM's fault). We could barely move from the lag then he opened a gate to Fel. I wasn't go to lag out in Fel so I left.

If there was a story line I never saw him say anything about it. I haven't seen any events since. That was in the first batch of events, I haven't heard anything out of this new batch.

It's up to the EM and their own personal schedules as to when the events occur. Its a part time job.. very part time.. I think when I interviewed last I was told it was 20 hours per month.. much of that is planning of course, and a portion is allotted for just being in game whether that be soliciting "things to come" or socializing with the community. But, in the end, the EM gets to plan the when and where. They have to consult with the others though, as while the storylines may differ.. the goal might be the same and in a "solve the puzzle" type event, an event outcome posted on one shard forum could spoil another shard's event that hasn't taken place yet.

Never out for the frilly fluffy eye candy stuff, out for the content. But it all pales next to the Seers.

I voted I avoided em.

That means nothing though. It is a part time job on their part and it's not very hard to pick a couple of nights a week that you are not busy or that you've set aside to do the job you applied for.

That's what the majority of EM's do, it saddens me that a few shards get ripped off because someone can make room for a couple hours one night a week?

It's not really excusable unless you have a real life crisis..and if that's the case, tell the players apologize and start up next week.

You should not apply and take a job like this, as part time as it may be, if you can not commit on night a week to it. Planning can be done inbetween. Some EM's do a great job, so the ones who don't really don't have much of an excuse.

Here is a just a small example of what he has done....

Two events ago, he has us go to the Paxosumys (miss spelled) to do an event....we get there, go through the place to the end, then says "Oh we need keys....You guys get them I will be back in an hour" I left after that....whats the sense if he isnt going to stick it out and be there the whole event!!!!
