Okay so I have been playing UO now for 10 years but just recently became more involvd in the game by joining guilds and actually meeting new people. SO anyway . . . I really like role playing but I would like to know a little more about it because I am a newbie to chatting in RPG talk.

So, my question is does anyone have a website I could check out with RPG talk or if someone could give me some things I could use . . . Im so tired of just knowing 'hail' lol.

Just talk normally, using complete words, without reference to anything outside the game. You'll soon pick up various bits of lingo the more you hang around people.

Roleplaying is quite simple.
You play the role of your character.
Talk and act like your character would act.

That's pretty much it.

If you can't get in the role of your character, try creating a back story.

Purists tend to talk in what they think is a type of "medieval" english "hail" "well met" etc

But really theres no need.

A lot of North American role players used to use the phrase "ok" in rp and after a while I got used to it and its fine. Like they said above - talk normally, in full words not txt speak, dont lol, emote *smiles* instead and just speak liek you think your charcter woudl speak. Liek they said above

Another thing that's quite important to maintain a roleplay atmosphere: correct spelling.
(e.g. read what you have typed before you press enter!)

As for using the phrase "ok", well, I guess different people set different standards to roleplay.
