I can recall back in the day that a character with poisoning skill could poison a wepon and any character that could use that weapon would be able to inflict poison on whatever it was they were fighting, with out having the Poisoning skill themselves.

Now I have heard rumors that if your character that is using the poisoned wepon, he/she too must have the posioning skill for it to be inflicted.

Can someone set me on the right path here. I have a Mage/Sribe/Poisoner character now and he can cast DP. However I want this character to Poison some Katannas for my Swordsman who doesnt have the Poisoning skill. Will my Swordsmen be able to inflict the poison with out having the Poison skill?

Yes and no. If he has no poisoning he can only inflict "lesser poison" no matter what the weapon is poisoned with.

Anyone with the necessary weapon skill (70 primary, 90 secondary) can inflict poison via the infecting strike special move. If they lack the Poisoning skill, however, the poison that will be inflicted will be level 1 poison (lesser), even if the poison applied to the weapon is a higher level.

Characters with the Ninjitsu skill can inflict up to level 4 (deadly) poison without having the Poisoning skill, if the appropriate level poison is applied to Shuriken or Fukiya Darts, which are ninja weapons.
