A question about guards

When, as usual, I have run away from a monster (usually Elementals picking on my poor miner) how do I get help from the guards?

you have to enter a guard zone, and just say "guards". but you have to "be under the protection of the town guards" meaning inside a town, or within the proximity of a gate, once you see the message, then you can say guards.

The guard will kill the monsters but it will also remove any loot from it (for obvious reasons). So if a monster looted your corpse earlier... keep it far from the guards

Ask someone to help you kill it. Normally your equipment will appear in your instancied loot.
