Questing?

I know this is been asked before, but I am having trouble using the search feature. Can anyone tell me if there is a quest line? what is done in UO for fun?

Well, thats a loaded question.

UO doesnt have any kind of linear gameplay to it. There isnt a "next step" at any time besides skill development.

What do I do for fun?

Kill Dragons in Destard with my Samurai Paladin.
Do Treasure Maps with my Tamer/T-Hunter.
Get Powder of Translocation with my Necro.
Stealth around Fel on my Thief.
Explore Ilshenar for good, out-of-the-way hunting spots.
Sit in Luna and people-watch.
Stop random people to see if they will talk to me and see what they have to say.

A bunch of other things that Ive done that were fun that I cant remember at the moment. Ive been a bit too busy with rl stuff to log on lately...sad really.

cool, so make my own fun! I could do that... with all the liner MMO's I pretty much forgot the idea of creating fun

Getting a house and decorating it with different themes is a lot of fun too if you've never tried that.

Also, I love to just run around different areas and find cool landmarks and make runebooks to those locations.

I do things with my guild. Sometimes go farm fame/gold. Just hang out, depending on how lazy I am. Work skills on various characters.

The best thing about this game to me is that I don't have to spend hours beating things with a stick to gain levels so I can go fight better monsters.

head to swoops an gold farm meet good people there (when you can take turns) and with the rtight buch of people it is really cool

Also, you can learn the economy of UO. This is a good way to start making money. Start by finding out the prices of commonly used items, setup a vendor, and begin selling. Good starting items to sell include bags of sending and other such items from the any queen quest. If you have questions about it, I believe there is a thread somewhere below this one explaining it.
