Received this friendly pigeon mail ... I hope someone can help us

I mainly reside on the Sonoma Shard, a friend of mine and I ran into something interesting. Since New Haven has been changed you can't enter the city, blocked off from T-Port, recalls the works. We managed to get onto the south dock, and met 2 people... "Hogarth The Keeper Of Old Haven", and "Solomon The Barkeeper". Hogarth is a questgiver, his quest was to find "A worn katana" sitting right next to him... you pick it up nad it comes back again... we got several... you then give him the sword, and he gives it back to you.

We can find no other information on this quest.. and no other questgivers... also, there are a lot of crates with food on the dock.. you can take some, but after you take some, and try again... a message says "a guard is watching you... " and won't give you any more...

Can you help with this perplexing issue?

You have to mark the Work Katana as a quest item and talk to him again and then he just gives you another one and makes it like he was all sneaky tossing it in your pack.

Its part of the [young] quest now I believe. Replacement for the old "To Kill a Mongbat" that you got in Old Haven when starting out.

To my knowledge, you cant get into the other area unless you are going through the New Player Quest.

interesting... there is a sort of Black Knight, called challenger of Old Haven toward the north end... is that part of the [Young] quest also? And I'm assuming that [Young] means I have to have a [Young] character...

This was interesting, it was hard getting even that far into Old Haven... hehe

I went through that quest just this weekend. Young just means a new character, cause I don't have a young account anymore. The Black Knight is also part of it, but I can't really remember if he gave me a quest to do. I remember I passed by him to get out of that area.

Thanks to both of you, this is great info... A little bumbed... lol... Thought it might have had more intrigue with it... like to some major blackrock plot... oh well... better luck next time..

Yeah, you go by that Black Knight on your way out of Old Haven and he gives you a Rune to return "When you have mastered your skills..." which I thought a bit odd. In UO speak, mastering your skills would be all 90s, no? Who the heck is gonna keep the rune and then head back?

I havent recalled back in to see him yet, but I plan on it soon and Ill let you know how it goes...

What was the name and location of the person who starts you out on the quest cycle please...

Now I have to go create a new character and try this out....I will post findings as well.

Yeah this is a new character thing. It isn't even really a quest. It's to show you a little bit about the new UI and how to work it. Go try it on the test center for KR and wander around a bit.
