Provoker help

thought I'd start a new thread since apparently everyone is playing while I'm at work and there is nothing new for me to read

I was thinking of starting a provoker since bard is about the only char I havent played yet. what is the best combo for this mage/provoker, pure bard? I have never even worked the music skill so it will be a fresh start from char creation. elf over human? Any ideas or opinions would be kool.

I run a pure bard music/peace/discord/provo/magery/spell resist. I use an elf for the extra mana. I relay on discord to soften the target up, so I dont use spell eval, but rely on scrappers and other items for sdi. I rely on armor with lrc/mr/lmc. I run with spell resist because I hate getting para or poisoned, but spell resist could get replaced with med.

Ok was thinking along these lines, but what the heck is scrappers and sdi? (sorry if I sound ignorant.)

scrappers = Scrapper's Compendium
sdi = spell damage increase

I would suggest Elf, simply for the extra mana as stated. If you want to keep them human, you do get an auto 20 Focus and 20 Med (3 Mana Regen) so if you dont want to invest real points into them, youd get a little at least...

Music and Peace go up pretty quickly. I am working provo a bit at the moment, and not having great luck with gains. I hear that Discord is qute the pain in the arse to raise, but I have seen how wonderfully it works and would reccommend it to anyone with Music on their template.

I am making a bard T-hunter and I am keeping Magery pretty low to allow room for scrolling the Bard skills. You can always just jewel up Magery to a decent level or even use a spellbook with +Magery.

i have a thunter/bard and I use music/discor/prov/mage/cart/lp/med or resist

I use a tome of the lost knowledge to get +15 magery and i only use cartography to decode maps which i decode em all i put cart on a stone so i have more room for other skills while i am actually digging up treasure chest

still haven't decided if i am going with med or resist i guess i could easily make up med with mr armor
