Problems with new patch

Might want to check on the virtual memory settings of your rig. Start->Control Panel->System->not sure what tab the "Performance" button is under, but go there.

Youll want to set this to a static value (dont let Windows manage it, it sucks at it

) that is about twice the amount of RAM you have. So there will be 2 boxes and youll put 1000 in each box. 1024 if you want to get technical.

Restart and give it a try. I remember that helping alot when I was running ME.

And the only good thing I have to say about ME is "winipcfg" was so much more user friendly that having to go through the C:/ prompt.

I tried this Ezekiel still doesn't work...have tried everything i could think of ..still no go...i contacted uo support doubt that'll be much help either...just can't understand why it was working great yesterday and once i downloaded the new patch won't start at all...oh well guess i won't be playing for a while..maybe time to get a new puter

Installed game on wife's pc which is running windows xp and it works fine...guess it's just some issue with ME...Time to upgrade to a new puter i guess

XP should run fine on the box that has ME on it. Do you still have the install discs from wifeys PC? Cheaper than a new rig if you need time to mature the bankroll...

A friend is having the exact same problem. He hasn't figured it out either lol.
Someone in my guild had to reinstall UO to get it to work. *shrugs*

Don't have the install disk but i may buy one and try it ...would be cheaper than a new puter i guess...and I'm kinda attached to my old rig

Thanks for the help Adrianna, but I tried re-installing too...still doesn't work..

Is it just while patching you get it or while playing as well? Could install the patch through safe mode

Darksie I had a similar problem. One comp runs XP media edition and the other runs 2000. 2000 would not patch for me. Tried all the usuall things, deleting patch directory, running virus program, turning virus program off, restarting comp, rinse and repeat several times. Finally gave up on it and copied entire folder from XP comp to 2000. Seems to work fine now
