I have a problem. I just downloaded and patched the UO:KR client, and made an account and activated it with my CC.

So i log in, and i choose oceania(the aus server, but i also tried other servers and got the same bug) and i choose male human, and i get to the skill selection screen.

I choose whatever i want, (and i tried different variations, it doesn't matter what i choose,i still get the bug) and i click 'next' to go onto appearance... and nothing happens.

The next button 'lights up' when my mouse cursor is over and clicking, but it just can't go to the appearance tab.

What's wrong? I found some other posts on UOStratics with the same bug but noone was answering - geez, not being able to build a character to get playing after i've just bought an account, that's hardly a priority issue

Any help appreciated, it's pretty frustrating as you can imagine.

Have you tried making a "standard" template? If that doesn't work for you, let us know.

standard templates don't work, either.

I worked out, at least, that i can click on the blacked out 'create' to make a character with no hair at all, and default skin tone.

I can live with that for now, but it's disapointing to find out i need 50k to change my haircut, and another to get a beard

Yea that sux. Id report that bug to EA. With restyling your hair you can always use your new player ticket with another ticket to get one. Your new player ticket can be clicked on then click another ticket to get optional gifts one being a hair restyle. I beleive they sell other peoples tickets on vendors all over.

In regards to your issue, Have you got the 2D client installed? If not what you could do, is download it at about 650mb you can get this from Fileplanet or google it (Search for UO Gold) its free to download. I would suggest using that to make a character, then swap to KR this should fix your issue.

In regards to paying 50k for a haircut, You say you have just purchased the account, if this is a new player account then you should have whats called a "new player ticket" if you find someone else with one of these then you can both use them to pick a free hair restyle deed which sell for about 20 - 25k. Hope this helps.

thanks for the help guys. the 2d client would probably be the solution, but i dont think i need to beat my computer and download limit up by installing a big clump of data i shant even use to play.

i'll just have to be a baldy, and hope the issue is addressed when i plan to make another character some time down the track.
