Weird thing going on.

I logged onto a character I haven't played in a while (probably a year, but on an account that I use another character regularly). I'm working on his armor suit, and my physical resist value is either 27 (naked), or 33 (with armor) - even though I'm wearing 50+ phys resist armor at the moment. It won't update any higher than 33 (in the view of my status box). I tried logging out, logging back in... nada.

Is there anything that can block physical resist? Some property I'm not aware of or something? There are no strange properties on anything I'm wearing.

Do you think this could be a bug in the display of my physical resist, but that my resist is actually OK (ie. the game mechanics will calculate my resist properly in battle, but just the display is whacked)?

Does anyone know where I can ask this question to get some sort of official tech support response from UO? Should I page a GM?

my main char is exactly the same... no matter what kinda armor she wears, her ar rating is always 40,40,60,40,40 i thought it was just me, i hope someone out there can help kitiara(and me)

I paged a GM and they sent me the canned "your answer is in the EA knowledge base" answer. I had already looked there and kept getting a "404 not found" server error when I searched, so I gave up and paged the GM... this time, it worked (the search) and...

Fixed it... in my case, my character had Magic Reflection cast on him. Casting it again fixed my phys resist.

Nevaeh - It doesn't sound like any spell would do the kind of changes to ALL of your resists that you're seeing. Maybe try paging a GM and in your message to them note your resists (so they know it's not just one resist being affected). Or try casting RA, Magic Reflect, or Protection on yourself. Maybe it is a spell effect. Reactive armor affects all of the elemental resists, so maybe?

If your "buff bar" is not on, turn it on, and see if any spells are currently on. You will have to assign a key under macro's to toggle the buff bar on and off. Hope that helps.

What are your resists when you're naked Nevaeh? Kit might be right and it could be one of those spells.

Magic Reflection, Reactive Armor, and Protection are the biggest causes of problems with elemental or physical resists. Magic Resist is the other thing, because of the bump in base Ele resists at decent levels...

You play in 2d?

On the big status bar with your name and all the resists and stuff on it, there is a little blue dot. Click on it and youll get a little Celtic knot looking thing that will give little icons for each buff/debuff that is on your char at a given time.

Stuff like Bless, Poison, Stealth, etc. each have their own little symbol...
