I have a question, I had a pet on Lake Superior for more than 11 months, the pet was a GM in everything. Well one day I logged into the game and I was shocked to see that I was in the Ice Dungeon dead and my pet was missing. Well this seemed unusuall to me because I had logged out in my house alive and well and with my pet by my side. After many days of searching and asking questions I tried contacting a GM, after my third time I finely got to talk with one that did not refer me to there web page. He told me that they do not keep track of pets and that the game was not reponsible for any lost pets. He then suggested that I did not feed the pet and that the pet might have been unhappy and had left on his own. Which is a load of you know what, because the pet was in perfect health and happy when I last saw it. Please if any one has any information on what might have happened let me know. The pet was bonded so I do not see how it could be gone. It has now been over 2 weeks and yes I have checked every where and nothing, also my account has not been hacked into or anything of that nature. Then you had been in Ice before you logged? Just trying to figure out if it was a server reset or something totally different.

I would rather wake up in Ice than in UO Jail. If you need help getting another pet just ask. There are plenty of us willing to help.

Yes I had been in the Ice Dungeon hunting then went home and logged out before the server reset =( but I still dont know why the bonded pet would be gone do you?

This is a guess. When the server reset putting you back in Ice. Your pet was with you. It lost loyalty as time went on. Sounds like it lost loyalty until it finally went wild. Sorry about your loss. As Maddux said we will be more then glad to help you get another. I know the heart break of having to train one back up to GM. So if you want help just let us know what you are wanting.

My recollection is that there is a time gap between the time the server saves information for the last time each day and the time the server goes down (i.e., information is not saved as the server goes down for the day). If you recalled back to the house after the last server save and before down time, the last information the game had about you was that you were in Ice. Therefore, when the server rebooted, it put you back to the last known spot -- Ice.

This led to some fun behavior back in the day when there were enough people playing until the wee hours in Felucca -- folks would run around PK-ing each other after the final save because they knew they were in "free time" and they would not permanently receive murder counts or lose items (remember, this was pre-insurance). Was quite a bit of fun.

Not sure why you would have lost your pet in the process, though.

I had a problem with my bonded beetle disapearing once when I died. I couldn't find him and when I recalled he was no where to be found. After a few hours, when I logged back in, he was running around my house
