Perhaps ultima forums can get an answer on duped items?

We were promised by ea that this ongoing problem would be answered around june 16th from memory but the problem is still there and is hurting most shards really badly.
The longer the problems continue the richer the cheats are getting. EA deleted trillions but the market is now perhaps even more swimming with cash than before that. I have even seen many times people advertising stuff and duped stuff openly.
Can we have a quote please about the future of these things because as principled as i am, if this is going to continue why should i not join in with the trade of these items as i am falling further and further behind the cheaters.

You might as well join in because i doubt anything will ever be done about them. Maybe they will make a new dyeable shroud as a vet reward or something but i seriously doubt you will ever see the dupes go poof simply because to many people who didn't do anything wrong paid their hard earned gold for them and to take them away from those people would cause more of an uproar than not doing anything is.

Wat makes you think there is more gold in the market now? The gold these cheaters are making is gold that most likely was earned by legal means. Of course now that the gold has changed hands into the cheaters hands, it becomes dirty, but its all the same gold that was there before. The deleted gold was scripted and duped.

I am sure Wilki is just waiting to hit the "return" key and poof all those duped items, but he is waiting on the order from some higher up. It's very feasible that it could take the gold as well, because we dont know the exact extent of any logging routines they have running. We know they fixed it so these items in question cant be made any more, but it is very likely they also accounted for all of the duped items and just waiting. CatHat has said many times "That they have been told not to release anything." The warning was put out there not to buy duped items.

Any of the Dupes bug me as well. I picture my Devs taking time away from making me happy to fix this mess caused by these punks.

All these duped supposed rares are just stupid colored items. The only thing thats BS about the whole thing is that the dupers are getting rich for doing nothing but exploting a shortsight in the games coding. Those dogs should never have been created in the first place but it's a little late for that now.

I don't dupe don't know how don't own any of these duped item but the bottom line is that these items don't add any unfair advantage to anyone but the original dupers and alot of people like them and i could care less if they stay in the game forever doesn't hurt me one bit and it shouldn't hurt anyone else either. Persoanlly i think it's a load of crap to think that only 1-10 people in the whole game should have some special colored item so they can show off to everyone else with their ebay gold boughten items and act like they are someone special. I mean seriously 100,200,300 mil or more for this or that colored event item is a complete joke. Just the idea of a robe or a book supposedly being worth that much is more BS than the duping to be honest they shouldn't even put things that are that noticeable and impossible for any "normal" player to get into the game and only give them to a handful of people lucky enough to happen upon some random event. By putting items like this into the game in the first place and then only letting a handful of people have them they unknowingly gave the dupers the upper hand. If they want to keep making event rares maybe they should do deco stuff from now on to avoid this kind of thing in the future. Or better yet make all events like the current ophid invasion on all shards and the items somewhat hard to get but actually possible to get by your standard everyday normal player if they try hard enough.

On a side note if anyone actually thinks these items will ever go poof they must not be to familiar with the way UO has been run the last 9 years. When did anything this widespread ever go poof? The short answer NEVER and it NEVER will. If you honsetly believe otherwise prepare to be disappointed.

Didn't they say they were going to alter the items? I would imagine the crew in charge of making thse duped items go "poof" have their hands full and no idea what to do with it. Meaning, should they just convert them to harmless trinkets, delete them, or leave them, either one of those 3 could/will tick off plenty of people.
