(Tips for marketing your store) Kylana, did some digging and found that IAN Storm has some decent calcualtors to help you get in the ball park for pricing. These are ideal prices, and you will have to take the relative price for your shard into account. http://www.ianstorm.com/Ultima/Tome/...pe=Calculators ![]() Useful links [UO:F Common FAQ] [UO Stratics] [UO Guide] [Official UO Play Guide] [Search UO] [FindUO.com] [UO Feedback] [More Links, gathered by the Forum] [b][size="3"]Got a Question, or a great answer? ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | Re: Paul-Mart Franchise tips. (Tips for marketing your store) On LA, I have noticed some trends with vendors. This is part one. Will edit this post as I develop more of a "flavor" for the new state of the game. Armor pieces appear to be sold by kit type used, with a set value by type of kit. This makes no sense. Several of the pieces I have seen for 250K are worth maybe 15k, and better can be looted from monsters more easily than crafted from a kit. Prices should be based on mods, total resists, armor type, and piece type; regardless of source. First, some discussion of total resists. Many of us know that 70 resists is the goal, hopefully with useful mods (LRC, LMC, Luck, MR, HR, etc). Another objective to keep in mind is the 6 (or less) piece suit. We want to keep room for our jewels. So, what total resists per piece will yield an all 70's suit? (Vepl's formula)[(5x70)/6]=58.34 total per armor piece. Anything over 60 is a great peice, and should sell for 1 mill or more. Right now, most of the 1 million gp armor I have seen on this server is an avg of 50 resists. So for 6 million, you will STILL have to add jewels to get to all 70's. With a lot of new pieces that are counted as armor, but do NOT have any resists, we are now in the hunt for 5 piece suits. Using Vepl's formula we get [(5*70)/5]=70 total per piece. Also, consider the utility factor of medable armor pieces versus artifacts pieces. Taking this into account, pricing should be based on pieces that add the most to any suit type (this is mainly for all 70's resists suits). Which armor pieces have the least amount of artifacts to give better resists? How much more should we charge for those items? 1) Arms. There are no great arms artifacts. Therefore, you can charge more for high resists arms (60+ total resists). Charge 1.35~1.6 times your normal price. Vary according to sell speed (use the three day rule). 2) Gloves. Only a few glove artifacts, mostly for luckers. for 60+ resists, charge 1.25~1.45 times your normal price. 3) Legs. Only two legs artifacts that are useful. for 60+ resists charge 1.15~1.35 times your normal price. 4) Tunic. Only 3 tunic artifacts come to mind as parts of 70's suits. For 60 resists, charge 1.00 ~ 1.25 times your normal price. 5) Helm. MANY artifacts cover the helm. Unless your piece is truly godly (70+ resists with a good mod), sell this @ .75~.85 of your normal price. 6) Gorget. gah, so many gorgets to choose from!!! Luck necklace, pendant of magi, jackal's collar. on and on. Unless truly godly, sell same as helmet. .75~.85 of normal price. For total resists on a piece greater than 75, the above list goes out the window. Pricing is on a level playing field at this point. These pieces sell for 5-75 mill, depending on mods. I think the theoretical limit for total resists for one piece of armor is 118 (enhanced with barbed or valorite). If you have this, it will sell for more money than you can think to ask for. As always, if my info is out of date, or just plain wrong, feel free to post below so I can edit the post. ![]() Useful links [UO:F Common FAQ] [UO Stratics] [UO Guide] [Official UO Play Guide] [Search UO] [FindUO.com] [UO Feedback] [More Links, gathered by the Forum] [b][size="3"]Got a Question, or a great answer? (Tips for marketing your store) Not 100% sure Baldguy, as I am far from a merchanter, but a lot of items will be grossly over-priced and your pricings for items would be ripe for the re-saler. Ben, all you need to know about enhancing is that you will fail. Anything else is like hitting the mini-lotto. If you have a piece of armor you are thinking of enhancing I have 2 pieces of advice for you. #1 - Expect to lose it. #2 - Because of #1, do not attempt to enhance a piece of armor if it is already incorporated in any suit you use unless you have a replacement. ![]() ![]() Thanks again Maddux! ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | Re: Paul-Mart Franchise tips. (Tips for marketing your store) you are correct Dip. The result of my pricing is usually 20% undervalue. And resalers buy it up in droves. But they make only 20%, 10% of which is usually eaten up in vendor tax. I am learning to make up for overpricing with Search UO. that is one handy tool on a variety of levels. I would rather sell it out daily than hang on to it paying fees for overpriced items. that is jsut me. But it has served me well in the past. Another way to look at it, it is free money whether you get max dollar or bargain dollar, it's more than you had. i just prefer to move volume. ![]() Useful links [UO:F Common FAQ] [UO Stratics] [UO Guide] [Official UO Play Guide] [Search UO] [FindUO.com] [UO Feedback] [More Links, gathered by the Forum] [b][size="3"]Got a Question, or a great answer? (Tips for marketing your store) Good points, which is why I always under-priced anything I ever had on a vendor. My problems were never having enough time in game to keep up. ![]() ![]() Thanks again Maddux!
