![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | Our very own Tukaram sits in the 'hotseat' takenfrom uo.stratics.com CommunityNews. Widening the realm of my guests I present one of UOForums Administrators the charming Tukaram.~ I must confess I have never been to UOForums until today. My reporting job with Stratics keeps me busy so I rarely journey from it unless I am playing UO. Your website is wonderfully designed. Who design the site and how long has it been up and running? Adam, the site owner did the design. UOForums has been operating since 24SEP02 As a Forum Administrator what does your job entail? We handle some of the technical difficulties that are bound to pop up every now and then, I leave the real techie stuff to Adam. Oversee the Moderators and help them out whenever they want some help. It is such a well behaved Forum most of the time that we don’t have to work too hard. Have you been an Administrator in past and what lead you to this position? I haven’t been an Admin of any other site before. I had been using UOF for quite a while and at some point they asked me to be a Shard Moderator. I did that for awhile and became Lead Moderator. Somehow, instead of firing me, they made me an Admin. While scanning the site I see there are three administrators. How often do you communicate with the other two? Yes we communicate via the Forums, in PM's and we Page each other multiple times a day. We are all pretty active on the Forums, so we run into each other all the time whether in an "official" capacity or just hanging out. I assume you do or have played UO. If so when did you start and how often do you play at this time? I started in Oct '97. I only played for a few months because I really disliked what the players turned the game into. I came back for LBR, when I read about Trammel. I've been here ever since and still loving it. I'm down to a few days a week playing now. My son left UO for City of Heroes and I play in his Supergroup there a couple nights a week as well. So my time is shared between both games. But I have to stick with UO because I absolutely love making characters and working their skills. The skill gain here is so much more fun than other games I’ve played. (I dislike the “level grind” others have) How old were you when you first used a computer and what type was it? My first computer use was in some programming classes in college in 1982. I was 18. I don't remember anything about it except it ran DOS 1.1. Programming in Basic back then was pretty basic. What was the first computer game you played? Other than at the arcade I think the first computer based game I played was Willie Beamish. I used to love the Sierra games. That was on my blazing fast 386sx running 16Mhz! (it had a HUGE 100 Meg hard drive) UOForums has a very lengthy Rules Of Conduct. Who created these rules and are they ever updated? Adam wrote the original ROC. It is updated pretty regularly. Actually Adam and QueenMum updated it a couple weeks ago. What is your favorite color? Purple. But purple and yellow go together so nice they are almost one to me. Which words or phrases do you most overuse? @#$%. Oh I can’t say that here. Then nothing I can think of really. Some of the guys at work wonder why, no matter what time of day it is, I always say mornin’. It’s an old lack of sleep, living without the sun, Navy thing. What is your idea of perfect happiness? Having the money and health to do all the traveling I want. Neither of which I have, so I would say I am pretty happy with what I’ve got. I have a job with every weekend off, pays enough to cover the bills, and allows the kids and I to go to Disneyworld every year. This single fatherhood ain’t so bad sometimes. (In real life I refer to myself as a single mom but online you might not realize that I am really kidding) What do you admire most in a man? Trustworthiness and a sense of humor. What do you admire most in a woman? With a man or woman I would have to say trustworthiness and a sense of humor. Although physically I do admire women but this is a family show so I won’t go into that right now. If you could change one thing about your physical appearance what would it be? Lose weight. Actually I could change that...I just probably won't. ![]() What is your motto? Be excellent to each other and party on dude! Tukaram, thank you so much for taking the time to do this questionnaire.
