Older Newbie looking to join guild and learn

Hi

Ok i'm old and want to join a mature guild on any shard. i'm a real newbie. the reason i say mature is becauae i see characters running around with names like Brad Pitt....a little more RPG playing would help....

I've tried WOW and all that but i want something immersive allthough right now i haven't a clue what i'm doing...

Besides my fiance died a year ago to day and i'm wanting to lose my self in another world....
I got an advanced character with the 8th age but maybe starting from scratch might be better than my Paladin......anyway right now the game looks slightly overwelming but i'm willing to learn..

Yeah UO takes quite a bit to learn heck i am still trying to get it all down but it is an very neat game!

As for what shard to join, I am sure whatever you choose you will find people to hang with, I have ran into a few bad ones but awhole lot of good people. I was going to transfer from Atlanitc but I am happy I stayed for I finally found people I can go out and hunt with.

hehe Brad Pitt... that names sounds familar though. I do not watch much tv so I hear names but never can really match faces. Also Jonny Depp not good at picking him out neither.

Sorry to hear about your fiance =*( And I know what you mean just like to get lost into another world to make real life a little easier on yeah. I think you will fairly enjoy Ultima Online! I know some that have tired it but never gave themselves a chane to learn it and just right off the bat said "it is to hard" which I can see but any game is a little difficult at first but once you play for awhile you get the feel of the game.

Well whatever your new home shard maybe I hope you find good people! I am pretty sure you will.

You need to state which shard you are playing.......
There are quite a few good roll playing guilds and they are always ready to help and teach newbies.

I've been playing for 50 months and still learning.
I'm sure that once you have said which shard you are on people will be able to link you to a good guild.

Sorry to hear of the loss of your loved one. If a smaller population shard interests you I highly recommend the Peoples Army of Sonoma. The guild has people of all age ranges (median seems to be in the thirties) and interests in the world of UO with nightly events as well as highly active guildmates on at all hours. Never worry about asking questions either as even the most advanced and experienced players find new things to do and learn daily.

Threnody is right about the PAS (people's army of Sonama). We have a lot of fun and as a guild we offer so many things to do and learn. You don't have to be the warrior in the guild - you can be a warrior and a crafter or just a crafter. You can be you and what ever you like to do. Take a look at the web site forums and look at our calender to see what all possablities there is to do (nothing required).

Enjoy UO no matter what shard or character you deside.

It's truly a shame to hear of losing your fiance.

People, myself included, can spend years in UO and still learn something new each time they open up their account. It really has the possibility of becoming "multi-dimensional" to a person who will accept it that way.

There are flaws, but the good people in the game always make it worth coming back, whether you just logged in earlier in the afternoon, or a month ago.
