Found out some more Info on UOX
It was first created at the time of the beta before the shards went live by a guy named Jaegermeister. It stands for Ultima Offline eXperiment.

as the story goes he got his beta CD and didn't want to wait for Origin to get the shards up full time so he wiped up his own surver.

It was latter re-written by a guy named Cironian and his version was hosted by stratics in the early days of the game till EA released the lawyers.

And as every body knows once you let the lawyers out of there cages you can never get them back in so discussion of emulators is frowned upon here. shhhh they may be listening!
