No Snow for UO (Isn't rhyming great?)

I suppose there won't be any snow on the ground in UO this year then? Seems I remember it being in the beginning of December that we had it last year. I still have my fingers crossed, but it looks a little bleak to me so far.

Not like last year - this year, we're doing things a little differently.

Very soon (tomorrow, probably) you will see Test Center 1 take on a new identity - Winterland. In Winterland, there are a number of entertainments for all to enjoy:

A fully decorated Britain with decked out halls

Snow has fallen, and the rivers are iced over

Warm fires to gather around

A giant holiday tree

Unlimited charges fireworks wands for all, for 2D and KR

A small fair in Magincia featuring a variety of games

A "hit the bell with the hammer" tower

Shoot the dartboard

Find the coin under the cup

Team-based snowball wars

Gate leads to waiting area from the West Britain Bank

A dynamic arena creates randomized battlegrounds

Up to 32 players per game

Games last 15 minutes

Points are awarded and scores are kept for top players

Well thats a disappointment to say the least. I suppose it's nice that they tried something new and all that, but I have no interest in making a new character on a temporary shard. Europa is my home and I was very much looking forward to decorating my house for the snow this year. Oh well I guess... :angry3:

That is not good I love the snow in UO everything looks extra Christmasy with snow all around

Surely they mean some of this will come to the mainstay shards as well?

The way I interpret the post, yes - I agree with Decardo. Big changes usually roll out to TC first for trial and error, and then get rolled out to all the production shards.

We'll probably get "Winterland" a week after the TC gets it.

Just guessing, but that's how I read it.

Actually, they have special dye tubs on Winterland (like on Shard of the Dead), so I don't know about that...
