This is the "meat" of Nok's reasoning. If ALL remnance of UO Pro were gone then a flat list of "These are the only 3rd party programs that are acceptable to use with UO: (insert list of acceptable programs). The use of any other programs is prohibited and will result in.... etc. etc. etc. Examples of programs which will result in (insert punishment here) are (insert unacceptable 3rd part programs here)." would be more acceptable than what exists today with the "grey" area between what is acceptable and what is not.

What gray area? The definition of illegal UO programs is very clear. It isn't like there is a flood of new UO programs coming out. People are making a mountain out of a mole hill.

Re: No plans to reopen the UO Pro program.

When I started playing I didn't know what was acceptable and what wasn't without doing some heavy looking. I don't think I'm an exception by any standard.

And of course there's not a flood of UO programs coming out. That's because EA has decided that every tool not on UOPro is illegal.

And let's not lessen the effect of how the already illegal programs go virtually undetected so there really isn't a need to make new ones.

This has never been stated.

On a general note, there are much more important issues facing UO today yet people are complaining about a program that ended 8 years ago

Re: No plans to reopen the UO Pro program.

Not really complaining about it. Just talking about it 'cause the topic came up.

All it really does is point out another problem that has existed well beyond the time it should have.

Re: No plans to reopen the UO Pro program.

But this isn't a problem. The program was discontinued and has no bearing on whether unlisted programs are legal to use with UO.

Several, but not all?

Great, so that means I can start running Razor on EA servers?

You are correct, but this is the topic of the thread and therefore I am inclined to present my reasoning on the subject. Let's just call it another piece of the puzzle.
