No active account = no UOKR?

hi all,

first post in YEARS

i played the crap out of UO back in 97-98, so was thrilled when i was chosen to take part in the beta.

eagerly downloaded the client, installed, then was asked for a user name and password. fair enough; i go to the uo website and try to create a, what the website tells me, is a FREE account.

no dice, can't get it to work.

i come here looking for help, only to see that unless i have an active UO account, i can't run the beta.

is this true? if so, too bad. this would have been a great way to get an old-timer to possible return.

97-98? You didnt last very long then.

But yeah, you need an active UO sub to test the UOKR beta.

Welcome to the forum !

And I think you need an active UO account to play the beta, and you need the beta client to paly it.. which you can apply for.. somewhere, I'll try finding the link.

Thats correct. Without an active EA Acct, you cannot take part in the Beta.

You know tho, you could always just go get a 14 day trial from UO Gold and then log into Beta with same acct...at least, that should work.

kinda weird if they accept only active uo players because they need opinions from non uo players too

I think they are more interested in hearing what the current members think, as they already pay for it. Or at least they should

Why? That's a bit backwards. I'd think it's more important not to piss off your current user base first, THEN go about attracting new players to the game. Why worry about non-UO players until post-release?

And as everyone else said... yes you need an active account. KR is just a new client. It uses the same servers and same accounts/characters as the existing game - KR is just a new interface to play the game with.
