The new UO

Did anyone else see the new screenshots for uo and say danG that is going to be sick?Or was it just me because i love the direction they went graphic wise was a good compromise nothin super fancy up to date like NWN 2 or anything but kinda like baldurs gate 2.I dont know im jsut excited they are finally going to change it and not just leave the terrain the same and make chars/monsters 3d.

Re: The new UO

I have not been a fan of 3 D in any game... but this new setup they are previewing to us looks pretty good. I am open to having an ingame look at it.

Re: The new UO

It looks like a cool blend of 2d and 3d.

I think it is going to be off the hook. Everything we love about UO, with a nice finley tuned polish on top of the already off the hook game engine.

I am not a user of 3d either ,but this new 'look' is very pleasing on the eye I cant wait for it to come into being.I am sure I will have no problems adjusting

Re: The new UO

My only concern is that Mages not end up looking like Ewoks, as they do to me in the graphics thus far. I will not be an Ewok Mage. Ewoks are fine but I don't want to play one as a Mage.

I'd have no problem with it if it were an option, but unfortunately for some of us, EA has chosen to not go the dual client route.

You might look at Tiger Direct's specials when you go to upgrade. They tend to have really nice bundles, overstocks, et cetera from time to time:
www.tigerdirect.com

Another really good, good source for hardware is eBay. You have to scrounge to get good deals on new, unused components but if you're willing to scour dozens of pages, you will find some really great deals.

The devs said that you wont have to upgrade to the new client if you dont want to. They also said that it will require more processing power but not as much as the newer rpgs out there. I think your computer will probably run it if your comp it less than 3 or 4 yrs old.

Re: The new UO

well whoopy, it looks like ea has taken uo out of 1990 and took it stright to 1995 with the diablo look alike graphics.while i do admit its a huge improvement in looks its still not up to par with todays pay to play mmorpgs. welp i guess you made my mind up for me whether to stick it out on uo or keep progressing on WoW. im not paying $15 a month for a mid 90's clone. i dont think uo can deliver what players want anymore and their time has passed and is soon to come to an end. look at the large population loss when the newer mmorpg's came out (mainly WoW) and i just cant see uo going back to the way it was in its prime.
goodbye and good luck to all my old friends and to all you newbies i have one piece of advice, unless your a retro arcade fan youll like WoW better.
farewell and ill see most of you in Azeroth soon

So WoW is adding player-owned housing and communities, and is taking levelling out?
